  1. Hopefully, but only if UK Govt has confidence that the figures for vaccination, testing and infection rates coming from Thailand are reliable.
  2. IME a lot don't think that far ahead! I know a couple of guys who "lived their lives in reverse" by which i mean that during their potential earning years, they were enjoying themselves "on the beach" taking jobs to get just enough for the next 6 months. Then again some people work in industries where work/rest cycles are measured in weeks or months (think offshore oil workers for example) and do manage to put something by for their dotage. A colleague of mine in the ME used to look at his monthly salary and operate a "spend one, save one" system. Others of us had our own ways of saving and enjoying our free time. Problem with that is, one often reaches a point where that becomes unsustainable and typically that point coincides with reaching an age where choices dry out. And, of course, the pandemic has removed a lot of people's choices. Having said all that, everyone has the right to live their life as (s)he chooses but decisions frequently have consequences both good and bad.
  3. I wonder if the UK will create a "redder than red list" just for Thailand ???? Look like this winter's sojourn is off as well ????
  4. Not at all....very nice to drink....after you have your vaccination. ????
  5. It does indeed. My first AZ jab caused a slight discomfort when I lay on the site of the jab. No visible marks at all. My second caused me to have very mild flu-like symptoms 24 hours after the jab. These lasted for a couple of hours, then fine. Friends have mentioned a variety of very minor, but similar after effects, or sometimes none.
  6. As much as I like Thailand, this is an example of one thing I've always hated - their arrogant "we know better" attitude to many things. When every organised country on on the planet is successfully vaccinating using a tried and tested MO, these numpties have to throw in their useless, unproven ideas. I was once told "Khun Thai do different to other countries"...which is why at heart they're still a 3rd world country with charms. That observation was made in 1986 and in that respect they haven't really developed.
  7. Is he herring you correctly? Maybe tell him to rollmop with it ????
  8. Damn you beat me....... I ought to batter you...or perhaps just give you a smackerel ????
  9. I think that's what @xylophone means (?) Vaccinations are the seatbelt (what's a self belt?) to protect against Covid. Or if you like, there's "adventure and experiences," which entail risk and then there are unnecessary and pointless risks. In my very small way, I've taken a few risks in the name of "adventure and experiences", Off-road driving in ice and snow, wadi-bashing, SCUBA but I've also taken vaccinations where advisable all through my life. Am now waiting for the marvellous NHS to offer me my "old fart's" Covid booster - and yes, I know how lucky i am.
  10. Yes it has, Here is the latest official information for ENGLAND as of 19:00 BST September 17 They will apply from 4am Monday 4 October 2021 Red, amber, green lists: check the rules for travel to England from abroad
  11. Nah......Just let The Muppet Show continue, but as ever "Consider the source" - it's usually the same few! Can always "Ignore User" but where would we get our laughs from?
  12. That's something of an exaggeration don't you think? I should doubt any markets other than Thailand's will be greatly affected. Be interesting to see which way the Baht goes though.... And Crypto a safe haven? Please!!!
  13. Thailand's answer to Sir Humphrey Appleby! (Yes Minister) or could he aspire to being Donald Rumsfeld?
  14. Actually it reminds me of Spike Milligan's line "Follow me, I'll be right behind you"
  15. Thanks....I was getting to the point of exasperation with this individual and don't wish to be banned from the forum. Anything else I had said.......
  16. I can assure you that I am not "the xylophone guy" and your description of my opinions is, frankly, risible. The very use of the term "pro-experimental vaxxers" exposes your lack of accurate information - once again Conspiracy Theory dogma. Let the educated, intelligent members of the forum be the judges - I shall no longer respond to you Sir, Madam or whatever you may be. If you wish to have the last word, have at it. Good Day.
  17. No I don't - I share my "uninformed opinions" with more educated and competent people than you will ever know. Furthermore your reference to "big pharma propaganda" comes straight out the Conspiracy Theory dogma generally supported by those blinded by the light emitted from the bottoms of people like David Icke and so-called "Forbidden Knowledge" "Big Pharma", so-called, is keeping me alive and healthy as are the other, educated and competent people to whom I refer. Now kindly go away and play with the other impressionable children.
  18. It's the SCIENCE (and dedicated SCIENTISTS) that have produced the vaccine - watch my link above and grow up!
  19. Indeed. The part that takes 7-10 years is the admin and committees that usually go along with vaccine trials. This was all sidestepped with the Covid vaccine... Watch Panorama The Race for a Vaccine to see what I mean. Also here
