  1. We have a winner 👍
  2. There you go ... getting warm, now location ? 👍
  3. Feels like is the kicker down here. Actually not too bad in the shade w/breeze, for a short while...
  4. Well done citizens of FL, who elected the representatives, to put forth a law for them that they, the majority wanted. DeSantis just didn't veto it, and agreed with them. He was elected to represent his constituents. That's how democracy works in a Constitutional Republic.
  5. Actually the impression I get, not much has changed, except they closed the one loophole, for Thais mainly, of folks transferring money in from overseas, and avoiding the tax on it, as it wasn't reported to the Thai RD. That just exposed the lax enforcement of tax code on expats. Main difference is, now foreigner may realize, they may possibly have had to be filing tax returns in the past on income produced overseas, if here 180+ days. Think most didn't know or even think about income taxes when moving to TH. I know I didn't and if had known my income wasn't exempt, and a 20-25% (when unmarried) would be required, I probably wouldn't have come to TH. Thankfully it is exempt (Soc Sec), so no need to consider moving, although with the deductions allowed, I'd only get hit with 10%, if I couldn't burry the rest with some loophole.
  6. You missed my point, as every car seemed to have the same boring grills, whether black oval to add contrast & highlight badge, or worse, metal/silver/chrome. MG ZS one of, if not first (in TH) to do away with 2022 facelift. Which I actually thought was too plain & ugly. But after seeing a few driving towards me, really warmed up to it's uniqueness, and quite like it now. All the other EVs from CH, seem to eliminate the 'grill work' also, and very minimalistic / aerodynamic, with maybe an illuminated strip across the front. Much better than the ol' standard unstylish designs we've been trained to accept. ZS's is very practical also, having the charging port in the front. When using CSs, no worries or hassle of trying to plug into the side, when someone is parked too close to you. Convenient for the wife anyway, not me, as she's in control of charging when O&A.
  7. Just typical scare tactic marketing to get you into the office. At our ages we should be able to see through that BS. Read for yourself what the authorities put out, not info from salespersons. Goes with everything, when wanting info, go to the official source.
  8. Nothing like keeping a low profile when being a criminal. You can't fix stupid. Big thanks to his neighbors ... for ridding the loonies from TH 👍 Really needs to happen more often
  9. Appreciate all the work you've done, and info provided. Very informative. Personally, since a Yank, and Soc Sec not taxed, and only thing transferred into my Thai bank, I'm going to just wait & see, and not really file anything. I extend visa Oct/Nov, so will ask then, if Imm will be requiring a new form to be completed/shown, for 2025 extension, concerning TH tax filing. Guessing Imm won't know the answer, but I'll ask anyway. Not going to try to fix what isn't broke, especially since I have no tax liability in TH. Let them tell me, as long not reading about any penalty for not filing. THANKS
  10. I'm surprised people are still confused & asking questions of strangers for their taxes. Info has been out for a while now, and if you can't figure it out, just use a tax advisor. 3 months in, and people still haven't sorted if they will have a tax liability. Nothing like planning. The one link kind of explained everything one needs to know. Why does anyone need to ask questions after reading their DTA, and the excellent translated Thai tax code that was provided. Both are fairly straight forward, and easy to understand. Guessing these same folks didn't do their own taxes in home country, so just do the same here, use a tax consultant.
  11. Yea, my wife refused to go to the USA, as the govt signage isn't in Thai script, and a sign like this just wouldn't be able to be understood. From the vid, still not seeing how he was "driving careless, which may pose danger to others", as nobody was near the car or had to move. Though not the most intelligent thing to do. Beach looking kind of empty where he was, and actually the whole beach is a bit deserted. Only other person on the beach is the "Karon" tell him not to ... go figure.
  12. Night market ... simply walk there after sunset, as most people if 'in town', and less than 1 km away, if not much less. 'In town' isn't that big. Baht buses are quite convenient, but stop running at night fall, I think.
  13. Nice link. Though MG ZS discount expired. Atto 3 only 50k cheaper till end of April, so don't expect the ZS to be discounted again till Atto 3 price drops a bit more.
  14. Say it's not so ... Cross pinching MG's styling 😲
  15. Too irresponsible to use birth control ... not much hope for them to understand & use the voting system. 15 weeks is till allowed, and if having one, really should be that time. They have till Nov when 6 weeks comes into effect. Maybe they can learn to be responsible by then, and not be a repeat murderer.
  16. Now you're comparing apples & orange/car loans & mortgages. Long approval times, and what a seller/buyer accepts, is irrelevant when time for approval, and the appraisal is done. I'm not very trustworthy of used car assoc. opinions, as lets be real, does he or whoever have more ICEs in stock, or EVs. They're not going to say EVs are the way to go, easy approval, unless they have a large inventory of. Read between the lines people, and use common marketing sense. That's how I got to where I am, thinking for myself, not listening to those with a vested interest.
  17. You correct, I don't bother reading all these silly links, and go by life experiences from people I know & respect. And certainly not Thaiger news-blips. Might as well read DailyMail or National Enquirer. Someone states 'it's unlikely' ... sounds like an opinion, not a fact. As I stated, banks loan money at based on appraised value, not future depreciation. My experiences anyway, and I'll stick with that knowledge, which directly conflicts with what you're implying.
  18. Older Tesla Model 3s with 300+ miles, not bad at all, considering the older tech.
  19. And you know this how ? Do you really think the bank cares what you borrow money to buy might depreciate in the future, as that's pretty much a given, with the exception of Land & RE. More what ifs ... any real info or personal experiences. Not even a friend of my cousin's boss story.
  20. Guessing you also don't have 800k to deposit ? Which case, you don't qualify for Ret Visa.
  21. I can't see EV being any more of a risk that ICEV repos, as they are basically the same price, and loans approved on same qualifying rules. If anything, less risk, as cheaper to operate, so buyer has more liquid baht to pay the bank note. More silliness from the anti folks. Another what if scenario, along with the ol' doom & gloom sells. Getting old & unoriginal. Don't have anything else, at least more interesting Thaiger, noted for the excellent spot on blips. I like the last sentence, as might be able to pick up a 2nd, on the cheap, from bank.
  22. Hey .... where would the EV world be without 100 years of ...
  23. Yes, stated the same on the other thread ... "I'm actually hoping sales level off, and mainly so the ratio of EVs on the road, and ratio of CSs remain the same, as long as they are still able to make a profit with numbers already available & using. " That would suck if they start closing them, though doubt if MG every would ... saving grace. Bad enough finding accommodations that are pet friendly .... "do you allow EV charging? " I've only done that once, at a guesthouse, and he wouldn't take any money. Then I noticed the solar panels on the bungalows 👍 Though have seen a few folks charging from their bungalows while O&A, and we do take a 20m proper cord with us when on the road, JIC
