  1. When I first got here, I might spend 5 nights at one spot, and explore the areas nearby. Now, rare I spend a 3rd night anywhere. More so, because I've been to most places, and just pop in the area to seen anything new. Actually enjoy the journey more than the destination most times. Though after a couple legs, it's nice to kick back for a couple days on the balcony and enjoy the landscape, and why a view is always a priority. Also don't like being away from the house more than 14 days, and most O&As are around the 10 day mark. Kind of mid country, and don't go N that much, unless to see the daughter. 10days is a nice loop around the south, unless we hop over to Phuket, which I can see happening in the future. Not until the next pandemic
  2. A conservative 2500 cycles, as some estimate as much as 10k cycle. The wife will be very happy with 500k kms TransAm knows that, as I've replied to him with the same info so many times. Why I simply chuckle at him and don't bother replying. Simply ignore anyone who thinks 2500 cycles isn't a very real probability.
  3. Car, as I have no desire to be on any scooter, any size, for more than an hour. O&A in comfort is more important, though scooter wouldn't work well with a dog anyway, aside from all the other crap we take with us. My dream ... no pollution; land, air or sea HEY ... I can dream can't I
  4. TAT has a tough job trying to convince Muslims or any folks to come to TH, beside the poorest of the poor of the international travelers. IMHO From my reading, seems much better offerings just about everywhere, except for those thinking about traveling on the cheap. Just seems other destination are more modern (if wanting), but definitely cleaner. The amount of trash and unmaintained building here/TH is quite surprising. A simply coat of paint would do wonders.
  5. We await the next silly reason not to buy new or EVs. Actually, I can only think of 2 reason not to buy either: ... you simply don't want one, for whatever reason, simply happy with what you have now. ... you can't afford one, although Neta V starting @ 499k baht, or decent ICEVs starting @ ~600k baht, really shouldn't be a financial burden on most people/families. Even if financing, as interest rates are usually less than inflation rates for new cars. Keep it till it dies, if wanting to get your money's worth. Not many new cars won't last 20+ years if you take care of them. I've owned cars 10-15-20+ years old, as in the budget at the time, but still ran fine till I killed them. I had a 1950 Buick in 1975, making that car, 4+ yrs old than myself at the time
  6. "Risk for chronic fatigue soars among those who had COVID-19, study says" Are they the same patients that got vaccinated ... Which ... chicken or egg came first ... comes to mind. Just us unvaccinated people who haven't had covid
  7. Aside from childhood bullying or disagreements, as adults what environment do y'all live in, or situations you put yourself in, where fighting is even a topic. Self defense from a criminal or a nut case are the only real ones I can think of, and chance of either is extremely rare.
  8. Agree, depends on a few factors. For us, only owning an ICEV for 2 year, and probably the period of the most depreciation, it wouldn't make sense to sell and buy a new car. BUT ... getting a govt incentive, on new EV, along with having solar, then the incentive and never buying petrol again offsets any present or future depreciation of the ICEV, and saves money everyday after on operating cost. Selling and buying new made complete sense and saved, will save quite a bit of money. Even with no solar, it would be the right thing to do. And .. you get to drive a much better performing car.
  9. Nah, there are people who will always simply buy new. Budget dependent, if intelligent. I'm one of them now, as days of 2nd hand are way behind me. Before retiring, 2nd hand was practical, and fit my financial goals of early retirement. Only bought one new truck days past, and that was a business investment, and needed.
  10. Agreed. If money was a concern, I wouldn't own a car, as we simply don't need one. Last 6 ish weeks proved that, as without one, and the MB was more than enough for our transport needs. Many people's biggest financial mistake, buying one, outside their price range. Worse if financing at silly interest rate. A plus that EVs in TH, lessen the cost to operate, but if you buy new every few years, no matter what vehicle, then not getting one's value out of , and hopefully, buying with spare money. Happy Shopping, though I don't think I'd go with a Tesla. Still liking the Atto 3, unless set on a sedan. Then the Seal is looking really good.
  11. It's the weather ... it changes, like a lady through menapause I see your 1.5, and give you -60
  12. Again ... noticed you missed a couple other food thread... Thai ribs ... or not ... don't ya just want to bite into and tear the flesh of the bones. Finger lickin' good
  13. You call PoPo, and wait for them to maybe arrive ... Me ... yea, something like that, though think I'd wait till they actually entered, then legal to shoot...
  14. They also sell HEPA sheets, specifically for air purifiers, and ACs. Or you can be generic rolls or sheets and custom cut your own.
  15. I like Toronto, but, no thanks. A little too chilly half the year, though not a big thing, as good time to explore southward. Or northward to Toronto when USA is too hot. Not a Canuuk so would have to rely on OTT USA healthcare Housing prices and reasonably priced EVs or solar the other negatives. They total up to way too much monthly expense to justify change of location.
  16. I think maybe changed after my reply, as posted about non Taxi apps I use. Really wasn't sure if they were all transport apps., since not knowing most of them.
  17. I think the ZS is overpriced, simply for being a SUV, compared to MG's other BEV offerings. Same specs as the EP, but 180k more, just for the higher seating, and SUV 'styling', to be kind. I like it better, but 180k is a bit silly. Then you got the MG4, better spec'd, cheaper or same price if ZS on sale, if the MG4 isn't on sale. The EP is about same or cheaper than some top end entry models, 'made in TH'. EP / ฿771k vs Mazda 2 top model @ ฿799k ... that's just silly. For 70k more, you can have the MG4, not even on sale, cheaper if it is on sale. Performance wise, no ICEV in those price ranges can even come close. Sucks if you can't charge at home, or CS is too inconvenient. Lotus's has CSs now, so how easy is that once a week. Or popping into a mall.
  18. Why top model of ZS EV, ad D model is ฿869k now, I think. If not, will be next month Just take the least expensive ICE version without the sunroof. Which you really don't want in TH. Also the D model @ ฿719k. So ฿150k difference Savings on petrol per year, local 20k kms of driving @ ฿38,400, ROI 3.9 yrs on petrol alone. You forgot: 2 (10k kms) oil changes per year, ฿2k (being kind) ฿4k X 4 yrs = ฿16k At least 1 full tune up, ฿4j for east math, so ฿20k off that ฿150k = ฿130k now. ROI <3.4 yrs now. A sound investment for a better performing vehicle ... IMHO If not on sale, then using ฿224k, (฿204k) and back up to 5.3 yrs ICE version does lack a lot of electronic tech.
  19. Non Western food, not that often, maybe 25% of. Not a fan of rice, so when I do, it's usually a fusion if calling for rice. Non Western doesn't mean Thai, as also eat Malay, Korea, Japanese, and mostly curries of all. Usually at home, as restaurant choice are limited here, as prefer AC, and few locally. Eat more Thai, non Western when O&A.
  20. Buy from manufacturer site or authorized reseller. Manufacturers site will give you links to resellers if they don't sell direct, ex: LAZ ASUS. I'm also an ASUS fan. ASUS Resellers
  21. And that's why legal people need firearms and the training to use them. Probably the same as the violent crime graph, with few exceptions, and dropped considerably over past decades. Would think also, it increased recently. That's what happens when you raise taxes in the big cities, and businesses leave because of it. Raise taxes, they leave, now less taxes, so raise again, more leave .... rinse & repeat. Add the high drug use, turf wars, high drop out rate, broken , fatherless families, no discipline, bankrupt city budgets, corruption, defunding of police, and you got a living hell.
  22. Have to take the 5th on that one, although it is rumored, 2, a flintlock, pretty cool, and revolver (that shot a rifle round) may have passed through my hands while living in Udon Thani, and I may have given them away, or buried the one in the yard, after kicking the 1st wife out. Damn rumors. Have 'access' to 1 legal one here/PKK, though advised if used, hand back to legal owner, and she'll take responsibility for capping any idiots, that were dump enough to come over the wall. When at Udon Thani, landlord was Border Patrol and big wig at shooting range, assisting with acquiring legal firearm. Damn expensive. I had 16 in the USA, and not 1 cost that freakin' much. I did sell firearms, but the mark up is crap, or used to be. Prices now have skyrocket, along with sales, with every 'false' news of restrictions. Best marketing you can have. Fear of banning, Every school shooting, sales sky rocket. Buy while you can ... And NO, don't lock the doors & windows all the time, more unlocked than locked. If the CCTV & wall doesn't stop them, no sense in having them break a window or door to enter. Come on in, especially if not here. Everything is replaceable. Dog & myself are lite sleepers.
  23. I did state ... "with few exceptions" First link that popped up, so that's about as much as I care. And one year, 2023, maybe with an upswing, is it really going to change that much. And wonder if it has anything to do with the extra million or so unvetted immigrants, aside from the other million or so that did get caught, but may not show for their court date. Who knows, who cares, apparently only non Yanks on AN ... As the graph shows, violent crime has dropped considerably over the year, but you'd never hear that reported on MSM ... go figure
  24. When the tax incentives stop, possibly. Although the price war will continue, along with less expensive price tags, once manufactured in TH ... hopefully. Maybe not such a big impact to sales, as hopefully price drops will compensate loss of tax incentives.
