  1. If I lived in Krung Thep, I'd definitely have a vid camera set up viewing the sidewalk. You could live on that income ...
  2. N America does get a few things right ... 👍 We get about 2 months of AQI in 100+/-, rest of the year is fine. Can't say that about the fecal count or clarity of the surf (Gulf).
  3. Lock you wife & kid in the closet for an hour, and when you open the closet ... which one will be happy to see you
  4. Mixed thoughts on that. I'll warn folks on the overpass without a helmet headed toward a check point. The other day coming back from Hua Hin on highway, I'm passing a truck/trailer, with cruise control set @ 89 kph, and a pick up comes up behind me, way too fast behind me, flashes lights while I'm passing. I ignore him, and if having another coat of paint, he'd hit me So as soon as I'm able, I pass the truck and move over, knowing there's a speed camera ahead, and he probably hit about 120 kph in a 90 kph zone as he passed it
  5. That's not a reason, that's an excuse
  6. Our house is ~125m² and the carport comes in handy, but realistically, I live in only 60m². The rest is simply storing all the crap I've collected while here. Or needed to maintain the rest of the house/garden, that isn't really a necessity to have. If single, I could probably manage with a 50m² condo, as just cooking for 1 person. But living out of 30-35m², would get old very fast.
  7. I need a full size kitchen, with lots of counter space. I could probably get by with 2 burner gas hob & air fryer, but would limit my 'creativity' ... Our eat-in kitchen is 30m² alone, and give my 30m² more for bedroom/bath, and I'm happy. That would meet my minimalist living quarters. Don't need, or even have a living & dining room in present house.
  8. Agree and CCTV will insure everyone's safety. Use to go to a lot of music concerts, and they all usually had one thing in common, lines to the ladies rest room, and lots of time some gals would use the guys rest room, as rarely a line. Don't know about actually touching the seat, but nobody cared. A drunk might make a comment, but always someone else there to till them to chill out.
  9. Wanted a good chuckle this morning. Forgot about and rethinking the thread. So IF (never going to happen) I returned to USA, had a semi serious oops in Nov/Dec, then had another semi serious oops in Jan / Feb, It may actually cost me close to ฿1M baht before any coverage kicks in, since 2 different (annual deductible) years ... I seriously can't get that sick here, even once for half a mill ... That alone is reason enough never to return to USA. From quoted text of previous post: "Annual deductible of $13,228.24 / ฿445,451 before coverage kicks in, then deductibles for actually using, for specialist & drugs needed, if have an oops or ongoing issue."
  10. No need to ask why they are homeless ...
  11. That's a given, as I have no intention of leaving, or sitting on a plane internationally. Unless I take the Orient Express to somewhere, I'm crappin' out here. Actually saw it buzz by the park one day. Since running late, as scheduled to pass by at night time.
  12. Never really watched her show, big surprise. Little I knew, she come off as a hypocrite. Saying that, the trailer looks good ...
  13. Yea, that's scary, as they consider low to be 90/60 ... ... what's your O2 level when BP that low ?
  14. That's fine ... IF, you prefer noise & vibration over actual performance
  15. And another EV thread ruined by EV trolls ... ... well done 😎
  16. A couple generations changed things. 50s & 60s, divorce was still embarrassing vs today, where it's almost expected Lots of broken homes in the 80s and beyond. Along with living together is accepted in MSM.
  17. Nah ... there's rarely more than a couple 100 thousand baht on hand. More than 200, and it's a pain to carry in my little bag, w/PP/license/wallet & such. Since at the bank the other day, for Imm, made a withdrawal, and now have about 200k COH. Won't need to make another withdrawal for 3 or 4 months, and that will go directly into the play account, as wife has that account at BBL also. I tend not to lose things, so not much of an issue, security wise.
  18. Agree, and they offer a nice online service for PP renewal, as too easy, abet, a bit pricey. Just the DHL thing, and why fix what isn't broken, and will cost more.
  19. I'm thinking 'RV', camper top, maybe bed or just cooking area & makeshift shower. Tire of searching for 'pet friendly' accommodations. We're off the beaten track most of the time, and comfy beds don't seem to be a priority at many hotels. I like the promo in the one vid, actually 2, as the seats almost lay flat in the cab. One vid having campers on the truck bed already. May not even need a bed in the back truck bed. Something about the truck beds here in TH, so damn small / short. Actually hard to find one 2 meters. I'd much rather not have the SUV ish cab, and a longer, more practical work bed, since just the 2 of us. Although, If I can sleep in the cab, that could be major plus also. See what's on offer next year. Sleeping in the MG ZS doesn't work for me. Just a wee bit too big, and plus we'd need to put a roof rack the car, and no desire fore that, packing & unpacking.
  20. WOW ... Xiaomi to the rescue ... Don't think I've ever seen -0- across the board before 👍👍
  21. I'm cash guy at 7-11, as best way to break 1000 baht note. Needed for smaller vendors, as don't want to use up all the small notes paying with 1000 baht notes. One less transaction in my bank account makes things easier at visa extension time. My bank passbook usually has 12 or so deposits, and about 4 withdrawals for the whole year. Keeps the paperwork down ... save a tree ...
  22. Not sure it's all about men rejecting marriage. May be more about women being self sufficient, and realizing, they don't need men as past generations thought they did. I found independent, self sufficient woman putting off marriage, family life & kids till much later, if at all. Unskilled, unmotivated woman seem to look forward to being married ... until they realize ... oops, and want out. Then that 50/50 piece of paper comes in real handy. 75/25 if they popped out a few rug rats RUN FORREST RUN
  23. Shh ... you'll expose the facts. 4-6 months of unhealthy air vs the ... ... 'not a problem' ... 'I see blue skies' ... 'only a couple months a year' It's only a couple months a year where I live. Any further north, and it's horrendous, almost 6 months a year, if not more in some spots. This is still Sept, and burning season is sometimes till the end of May, when the later then normal rainy season kick in. Late Sept, Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr early May Even here, slight break in rainy season, so folks are taking advantage and burning what they couldn't the past weeks ... This part isn't too much of an issue ... But this is, and we turn the air purifiers on for ... Locally, we're a bit better ...
  24. They already have one ... fire blankets. Simply need to train & utilize them, along with adding to the fire fighting budgets.
  25. If you say so ... 🙄
