  1. I stopped listening to broker's suggestion early on, when I noticed my car in the parking lot, was better than theirs
  2. Little update/info to above, the BYD's <10% (9%) equalization process. Guess I should have search before doing, but no problem and did recover 2 of the 4 kms, so a success. Certainly would never consistently go below 20%, let alone 10%. MG ZS uses CATL batteries, did search CATL & Tesla recommendation for maintaining and both recommend not going below 20%, as BMS functions better. OK, makes sense, and TBH, 10% vs 20%, I really didn't see the point of going <10% then back to 100% vs starting at 20%. So won't purposely go <20% again, and rarely have, and I think only twice in 22k kms, while out & about. So degradation was 0.6% for the 14 months/22k kms, and as stated, expect ~4% over the battery warranty period of 8yrs/180k kms. All of 14 kms off out local driving range of 360 kms per full charge after 8 yrs. As stated again, probably less, as doubtful we'll put 20k kms on yearly in the future. HAPPY MOTORING

  4. Y'all need to leave the tourist ghettos. Finding good areas for food is easy. Hop the rail line to popular station; Ari is a good one, use Gmap for local restaurants. Pick a spot, and zoom in/out and refresh "search this area" and you get more options. Pick the ones with most reviews, w/menus & photos. You want halal, vegan, pick one of the large Mosques, and explore the sois near them. Just get out & explore ... too easy, too much fun., and if wanting a beer to wash down your munchies, just pop into a 7-11. Use a Yeti to be discreet and keep it cold. Can even take it into a restaurant with you, just make sure you order water with any food. One thing Krung Thep is good for, almost impossible to be bored there ... though you do have to leave the barstool. Also a few floating/canal side markets worth a visit, though avoid weekends, or not. Accessible by rail and or bus, if not wanting to drive. I don't when in town, unless I know I can park at a mall. Then hit the streets, means it's not a late night, which never are anyway. Stayed at iCheck Inn/Sathorn a few weeks back (since pet friendly), and decent street around the corner there with some good munchies. Had Mexican, OK, a little pricy, and there's a Charlie Brown's there for the 'non experimental' types. At night the street vendors showed up. Just OK, though TBH, didn't explore too much, as just hanging out with daughter, she's a bit lazy.
  5. I would expect penguin, ostrich & kiwi crossings but not those bird crossings. Yea I know, there's a few more.
  6. "While the frequency of these popping sounds is too high for human ears, insects, other mammals, and maybe even other plants can likely detect them. The sounds were also found to differ depending on the type of stress the plant was experiencing, which could be distinguished using a machine learning algorithm." Please don't kill & eat me ... Murderer ..
  7. @jakow condolences .. ... agree w/L3, why go through the hassle (& expense), of transporting father and probably not getting visa for your immediate family. Anyone in states, can easily come here. Since he chose to retire here, guessing not much interested him, along with folks there, enough to stay. Remember when my mother passed in USA, cancer, so no surprise, and during the 3 months I was there, nobody by my brothers tended to her, or visited. Lived at my house, that I gave to my brother when I left, 3 yrs prior, and he asked what about a viewing & funeral. I simply said 'for who ?'. And she'd be pissed if we wasted money on a depressing departure party she didn't attend. So easy, private & inexpensive cremation, and ashes taken to the surf, that she wanted, near where she worked last and longest job - Trump Casino, AC, NJ ... Just have something here, as that's where he chose to finish out his time 👍
  8. Looking good ... ... yes, eating anything is murder, unless it was already dead. Any of you vegans/vegetarians out there foraging for dead plant life ?
  9. Equate our ZSs to GM ... blasphemy More like origins, though not much resemblance to BMW MG Rover 75. Group owner, Nanjing Automobile Corporation (NAC) acquired the tooling for the car. Both companies launched revised versions of the 75/ZT in China. SAIC's model was named the Roewe 750 (following the purchase of the Rover brand by Ford, the Roewe marque was created by SAIC for use worldwide) and NAC's the MG 7. SAIC purchased technology relating to the Rover 75 ... after the 2005 collapse of MG Rover. The Roewe RX3 is a subcompact crossover manufactured by SAIC's sub brand, Roewe. The RX3 crossover shares the underpinnings with the MG ZS, and is positioned below the Roewe RX5 compact crossover.
  10. Hypothetically, food & housing, protecting is a pretty good motivation not to bite the hand that feeds you. He's smart enough to make things valuable secure, pin protected. May have a whole underground farm, who knows, or 1000s of can of beans and Spam I've unintentionally became a prepper. Solar, transport, rain water, and protein, living surfside. Have to blacken out the windows, so nobody knows we have energy. Holding on to it would be an issue, as only have so many rounds .. Though I do know more than a few folks at RTAF Wing 5. Don't think we need to worry about anything, as TH is one of the few countries that can feed itself.
  11. I'm against the drag queen / trans BS reading to children, unless approved by parents, as just too impressionable on small children. Even have issue with any parent that would consent to that. Let the youngins progress at they're own nature curiously. They'll figure it out on their own, we all did. Would think even easier today, as not much is 'taboo'. There's no such thing as strange sexual acts, just acts you haven't sampled or tried yet ... Consenting adults can get their freak on anyway they choose ... thankfully
  12. As a matter of fact I do, and posted before, about a good friend of mine got cancelled when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Besides the 'mind F' or being diagnosed, and then 'cancelled', it actually turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to him. A wrong diagnosis, and he'll be around for a long time, to the dismay of the insurance co. He already turned down a $3M settlement Seems to happen so much, they now tell how to appeal Supposedly can't cancel, but, can not renew, or offer you their 'new rate' to cover. Sounds like you just got cancelled to me. ouch, thanks for nothing If you don't believe the govt sites, maybe you believe MSM
  13. Some implying it will be WW III, though highly doubtful ... IMHO Social structure collapse, IF, BIG IF, and when societies realize, their (most) countries are bankrupt, and they've been had. UP THE REVOLUTION kind of thing, and govts collapse. Not in our lifetime. All BS, but if we're playing the 'what if' scenarios, why not. The masses are just too stupid, and will go along with whatever they are told. Past centuries have proved that. and more recently, that flu thingy the past few years. No real need to worry, until EU (already in the process) & USA go to digital money, then all freedoms will be lost, and all aspects of people's lives will be controlled. Access to their money, and freedom of movement, controlled. Especially with high tech EVs and even ICEVs, as they be adding geofencing into them soon, if not already. Plotline for a movie ... yea, but I find most old conspiracy movies, had a bit a truth that was realized later. Sure they all thought back then .... "that could never" ... and yet What does Zucker know that we don't ... ... how to become a billionaire rather quick for one
  14. You just love to spin things. Record numbers enrolled, yes .... in Medicaid option, for those that can't afford private insurance anymore. Since we all know when something is mandatory, the price goes up, and the value (coverage) down. ACA does have a few good things in it: ... showed so many people qualify for Medicaid that didn't know, hence the 'high enrollment to ACA' which they didn't need to get Medicaid. ... supposedly ins. co. can't cancel you, supposedly, but false, they still will ... can't deny you for pre existing ... but will charge you appropriately as a higher risk Only the last one was needed, the first 2, weren't and ACA is simply a money maker for the writers of. Try to spin all you want, only ignorant folks will fall for the BS I've been on the receiving end of the bad ins co. and why I'd never pay for a policy.
  15. They're rich, and can fly in whoever they want. Might have guest quarter for his chopper pilot. StarLink for internet. Sounds like a smart move, and why not, when you are that rich. Could have just bought into space at one of the silos offering living accommodations.
  16. Nobody has to call most of the anti EV'ers postings an idiot. They state that themselves by what they post. IMHO Only a handful actually engage in educated, informed discussion. Why people that don't own, don't intend to own, even bother on the EV threads is a bit telling why they are there, and why most go to my ignore list. Only see their posts (inclusive) when quoted. Half my ignore list is probably anti EV/CH folks, rest are, and some of the same, TH/USA/gay bashers, along with solar not a feasible alternative to the grid. Ignorance or bigotry I simply don't need to read. Have a Nice Day
  17. Obamacare ... Written by lobbyist for the insurance companies & big pharma. Thankfully Trumps administration changed a few of those things; ... No fine/tax for not buying into ACA ... now allowed to know the true price of your med. Yea, that's actually true, what a scam Mind boggling, and bill introduce by Rep, not the dems: https://www.facebook.com/reel/903897034680252 check ... true Thank You Reps
  18. If not for the air pollution, I wish I was able to live in CH. Believe what you want, but democracy is a farce, in most, if not all so called democratic countries...IMHO And Unions are a joke, and a business only to themselves. I've been a union rep, and sold out by the unions. All they care about is themselves & dues. Anyone depending on employers, unions, government for their future financial security, are about as ignorant and or brainwashed as can be. If you can't personally negotiate your own salary or contract, then being an 'employee' is a losing game.
  19. Understanding the market, once achieved, trading is easy ... https://www.facebook.com/reel/666373389023633
  20. Let us know where that is. As a Yank, it's not the USA. I actually have more 'freedoms' here/TH, than I did in USA. Democracy ... That's an illusion
  21. Train is a good option for those petrified about being on the roadways
  22. Link I posted shows Patts station about 6 kms away from beach area, though that may be convenient for some, as who actually live at beach area. Short taxi/bolt/grab beats leaving your car somewhere for a week, I think, unless secure and inexpensive parking available. Driving really wouldn't be a pleasant drive, Patts to Hua Hin, as already stated, 35 is crap, and slow on a good days, in a few spots. Then moves pretty good, but avoid weekends as BKK'er head to/from the beaches.
