Why are we suddenly allowed to publicly criticize Jews?
KhunLA replied to AndyAndyAndy's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
And here I thought the topic was about criticizing Jews now, and people's ability to exercise some freedom of expression, which apparently in some locations, they weren't comfortable doing. I just continued the discussion, adding the legality of it in some countries. Expand your mind and the discussion sometimes, and it might explain the lack of criticism in the past. Maybe one of us should reread the OP and I'm pretty sure it's not me. Hey, but thanks for your contribution to the discussion, always appreciated -
Apparently not, or they wouldn't have to pay at all On topic ... competition is a beautiful thing. Tesla, Ora Good Cat and selective MGs taking a back seat to BYD's line up.

Guess you never been to Chinatown, as some of those ma/pa shophouses with a Q out front are charging some hefty prices for soup or noodles. Hear you can even pay 1000+ baht for a simple crap omelet at some hole in wall, but got one of those 'stars' on the wall. I get an excellent crab omelet down the road for 60 baht. I guess I could order 15 of them, and still have a Mojito and maybe still walk away with change. Pay what you want, but I can find good food anywhere, and chit chat with the chef if wanting ... quaint & homey. While looking at the surf across the street.

Why are we suddenly allowed to publicly criticize Jews?
KhunLA replied to AndyAndyAndy's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Criticizing Jews ... not allowed. That must be a location dependent thing. Don't know where y'all from, but in USA, we have 'Freedom of Expression'. We get to criticize anyone, everyone, any where, any how. We want to hang a swastika on our front door, we can. Want give German salute, and sieg heil, we can do that to. Deny the holocaust, not a problem. Won't get arrested, won't get fined, won't go to jail. I couldn't live in UK, or the EU. Not that I would do any of those things, but if wanted to or did want to be an A-hole, it would be my right That goes with any race, sex, religion. Voltaire and others get credit for this little diddly, but I agree 100% -
I liked season 1 & 2. Haven't started 3 yet, as I'll wait till it's completed. Watching 'The Wire' now, and how that is a 9.3 is mind boggling. Season 1 was really slow going, with little to no action. Only stuck with it, as out of things to watch, and I do like a few of the actors. Wonder if it got such a high rating for being woke, as a male (gang bangers) and a female couple. along with 90% of cast are black, but really expected since location. Season 2 better step up the action.

Renewing a Driver's Licence Without a Yellow Book
KhunLA replied to Robbkk's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
go online to the DLT office you plan on using, and all info should be there. I wouldn't just show up, 'to get' an appointment. It's changed since your last renewal. -
$15-20 million salary at Fox ... that's just stupid

How difficult is it to get a divorce? (continuing saga)
KhunLA replied to notrub's topic in Marriage and Divorce
@notrub This is what I would do. Let her know, you know she's looking for LTR. Tell her you'll 'let her' divorce you ... and, give her 200k baht (start at #), .... IF .. she'll sign a POA. If not at 200k, then start to negotiate up to 500k, or what ever you are comfortable with. As you state, you have millions invested, then sell and get out of dodge. -
How difficult is it to get a divorce? (continuing saga)
KhunLA replied to notrub's topic in Marriage and Divorce
Without POA, that ain't going to happen. Best he can expect is maybe able to live there, which depending on a few factors, may not be the healthiest way forward. Need to look over your shoulder when you are worth more dead than alive to other people. For others ... don't invest more than you can lose. -
Praise Buddha ... getting my sugar fix on Used this recipe, with sight adjustment. 25gr less sugar, 25gr less flour, added 25gr cacao powder. and why very dark. Negative of that, you can't tell when edges are starting to brown.

How difficult is it to get a divorce? (continuing saga)
KhunLA replied to notrub's topic in Marriage and Divorce
The divorce, as always, will be as simple or as difficult as she makes it. Did you ask her for a divorce yet ? If she agrees, uncontested, then it's about 15 mins of paperwork (no prep) at the office, same as getting married. If she's been living away from you, not same house, then that would fall under abandonment, and grounds for divorce for you. -
Raw onions (from local markets) on sandwiches: OK?
KhunLA replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in Western Food in Thailand
Helps to know how to eat .. and yea, sounds silly, but there is a process to maximize flavors. Food needs fat, as wakes up all the other 'flavors'. When eating, first in, fats; butter, oil. If eating butter toast with your brekkie, yea, that's your first bite, and upside down, so butter hits your tongue. That primes your taste buds for sweet, sour, bitter, spicy and the umami that follows. And easy on the chilies, or you'll fry them suckers, and won't be able to taste a damn afterwards. -
Just buy a set of professional clipper/trimmer. #1 or 2 does the trick, depending on how thin or thick you want it. A good one will last almost for forever. Mine's about 20 yrs old, and cost <1000 baht. Now I use for haircut also, every 4-6 weeks, using #4, and just run over my whole head. Too simple. Had one my whole life, as have a heavy beard. Remember coworker asking me how I keep my beard nicely trimmed ... ... ah ... beard trimmer Just avoid the cordless ones, as most are crap. Last time I had a haircut, I just asked what brand of clipper, and where he got them from. Most beauty supply shops will have a few to choose from. All you need is 4 attachments (#1-4mm). Little cleaning & oil, and it will last forever.

Raw onions (from local markets) on sandwiches: OK?
KhunLA replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in Western Food in Thailand
As a youngin', I use to avoid onions on everything. First thing I'd say after ordering a hoagie or cheesesteak ... NO ONIONS. Now, I put them on or in most things; raw, fried, pickled. -
Must be pork pie day, as wife made some also.

I would go with a lithium battery only. I'd also probably only go with DECO brand. Little pricy, but with the others, you get or don't get what you pay for. I have DECO motorcycle, and quite happy with it after shy of 2.5 yrs. Battery still under (3 yr) warranty till Oct 2024. DECO offers two 3 wheelers: Family 2 Family 3 Spec'd about the same, except for motor size & price: 650w ฿39.9k vs 500w ฿35.9k Battery 60v20Ah Not sure if they qualify for govt incentive.

I don't have a pay account, and YT has even stopped with the pop up, asking me to turn off the adblocker. If the add is in the vid, it's not YT, it's the YT'er that places those. I won't watch any YT'er that does that. If they want to tell me about their sponsor's product, fine. I just fast forward pass it.

Maybe to you, but I never heard expression before, and still vague. I get the quaint & homey part, but the suggestions, not so quaint or homey. Match the wide range on Gmaps that I got.

Yea, and example of one that he/she liked already would have helped. I like the smaller vendors/shophouse or detached, though hard to make a profit with <10 tables at detached house. Small enough so you can chit chat to the owner if wanting. When stated 'house restaurant', I thought 'homestay' w/extended restaurant. Then I Google, and got all kinds of different versions. Oh well ...
-
That's about as vague as one can get. Matches the OP lack of description.

This one at Makro, 2L and priced 160-200, all SS. Bought a 2nd for on the road. Preferred something smaller, but most smaller aren't SS.

I tend to go for best product at best price = best value for said customer. Don't about their PR/owner's opinion on life and or politics. That said, I don't think Tesla cars are that any more, especially at the price point in TH. I do like Musk though, and agree with a lot of his thoughts.

Why Learn Passa Thai? Your Justifications for Doing So?

One reason you should learn Thai, before replying ... English: 'language' = 'ภาษา" (Thai) transliteration: P̣hās̄ʹā
