  1. Yep, the vid I posted above points out why Tesla is the go to BEV, since having a charging network in the USA. A new wrinkle, China (BYD) was reported with stating, they are concerned about USA pinching their tech, if they start importing into the USA. Though not sure that's too believable, as BYD is readily available in Mexico. Plus Tesla is open end about their patents, so the tech is available. BYD may be more protective about their battery tech, but again, nothing to keep USA makers from simply buying in Mexico and copying the tech. I think it's most big oil & gas control, same as why solar is so expensive in the USA. I priced our solar system for Philly area, and it's 3X the cost Lot of that is probably labor cost, and simple price gouging of anything, that saves people money in the future. Living the INDEPENDENCE Dream in TH 🌞 🚗 ⚡⚡⚡ https://thetruesize.com/
  2. As long as alcohol & tobacco products are used it movies & TV series, you really don't need to advertise, as that is more than enough to influence people, to copy people they admire.
  3. Just a matter of time, till they, ICEV, become collector items. Apparently faster in TH, then some other countries (USA) still dominated & controlled by big oil & gas. When the BEV & PHIV pick up hit the market in force, ICEV are in deep sh!t I just saw a Mazda 2 promo, and the EV price war, pricing, taking it's toll on the ICEV market. About 150k off the olld price of 600k, now 459k .... OUCH Not leaving much for profit, if any, as the main components for ICEV aren't coming down in price. That's just a bit more than ours cost in 2012, 415k, when the 100k excise tax rebate was in effect. Our 2020 MG ZS (ICEV), was on sale from 739k to 695k back then, and now the 'D' model is 599k. Glad we sold when we did, as a 5 yr old ZS wouldn't bring 400k now. And that was a buyers market during covid.
  4. No, didn't miss the point, it just wasn't interesting. Showing the effects on the family of a wayward child making the news is of no interest to me. Especially as it was presented.
  5. Depends why prescribed. If immune system is compromised, then will give a bit of a boost. That is definitely a high dose, but I doubt if it is harmful, as most excess will pass in your urine, as you'll notice deep yellow color. High vitamin C intake may affect other minerals & vitamin absorption along with meds. You may also need something else, so that the vit C is absorbed, or would be a waste to even take. Sure you read, if too much for your system, you'll notice digestive issues.
  6. She might have dentures
  7. Eps 1 of 'Adolescence' was interesting, as a Yank, and if true, the way a juvy is processed, and way different than my experiences in the USA. Last scene w/vid brought it all together. Eps 2-3-4, was simply a waste of my time. The swat team making the arrest was totally ridiculous. Give eps 1 a 5/10, the rest, don't bother.
  8. Me and wife would still be hungry after that meal. Small serving of both ribs & roast. But I guess that's the going rate for AC pub on Suk rd area, tourist ghetto. I guess they didn't have any money left for beverages. Not that I would ever take the wife to that part of town anyway. As she doesn't need the condescending looks, or comments from some drunk, I might have to shove into moving traffic, as too lazy to fight people at my age
  9. Don't stress on trying to eat healthy. What ever works for you. Most of us know what is bad for you. Eat what 'current' studies suggest. Myself, if haven't noticed, a Keto-ish dining lifestyle. Like my eggs, cook with mostly Canola oil, avoid starchy carbs & sugar. No junk, plenty of whole food home cooking. Plenty of variety and easy to stick to. Throw in intermittent fasting, 15+ hrs, mostly overnight (2000 - 1100 hrs) and weight control is on auto pilot.
  10. I'm with the 'good riddance' folks, as one less nutter on the streets my wife & daughter don't have to worry about ever encountering. Trying to steal a MB with 2 guys standing next to it. Only makes you wonder what he'd do if nobody was around. Autopsy should be interested, if a follow up is ever offered.
  11. Anyone looking for a no frills 'small' microwave ... we just picked up a Midea 20L, for ฿1690 @ Global House. Best price we could find for it, Model: MM7P012MZ. (3% off with CC purchase if qualifying) Midea is an OEM for microwaves for Toshiba, Whirlpool, Black+Decker, GE, Comfee & others, along with offering a better warranty than rebranded ones. https://globalhouse.co.th/product/MIDEA-ไมโครเวฟ-อินเวอร์เตอร์-ธรรมดา-ขนาดควาจุ-20-ลิตร-รุ่น-MM7P012MZ-สีดำ-i.6944271674628 Also while out shopping today, picked up an office chair from HomePro, who have a strange pricing structure. In store 'sale' price of ฿2189 (MSRP 2999 ?) Show rep online price of ฿1490 ... ... let me check front desk ... offer for ฿1890 buy now, in store 🙄 While sitting in the display chair, I order on line, pay, and select 'pick up' at PKK branch. Walk up to service desk, and 'picked up' I could have actually selected, assemble & deliver for free. Mind Boggling
  12. Yea, I took a lot more, and longer breaks away from home when living in Udon Thani. Now live were we use to go quite often, so sometimes wonder why we bother going O&A. They are shorter, and more about different food and a view, not so much exploring anything new, as already did that the first 20 years here. As stated a few times, the journey is more interesting than the destinations. And we only seem to settle in for a day or 2, before moving one. It's nice when we find a bungalow with a view & pool alang with good food, or a great night market nearby.
  13. Yes, I had 2 huge tax bills, actually after retirement, because I no longer had any deductions. Broke that 5% income level, with no deductions, so yea .... OUCH Although through some creative number playing, managed to keep below the max tax rate of 37% at the time. Registered in a state with no income tax. 😎 For the curious, 5% starts @
  14. Not exactly cooking, but needs to be done a couple times a week to have a constant supply of Milk & Water Kefir
  15. Everyone is subject to the same tax code, and can use to their advantage. How much taxes did his assets provide to the tax base ? RE & school taxes on his business and personal properties, assets. Taxes for just 1 property ... How much income did he put into the economy via his employees' salaries, along with their income tax contributions. Along with every other tax they paid on their purchases, RE taxes, school taxes, providing more jobs & tax revenue. Smart rich people don't have an income, by paying themselves salaries. They get low interest loans against their assets, and live off that. Paying 5-10% interest, instead of 25-37% income tax, then deduct the interest off their tax liabilities. All things everyone can do. Tax code is available for everyone to use and or abuse. Allowing everyone to manage their finances the best they can .... ... to afford those vacations (always on topic) OMT ... work smarter not harder
  16. Wonder if SAIC's pick up will make an appearance at auto show. I bit too plush for me, and priced accordingly, ฿2-2.5M, from online reports. Waiting for something around ฿700k w/60kWh battery and more importantly, a proper 2m cargo bed. Don't need another SUV with small cargo bed, that my wife can't even stretch out on. Kind of wish Toyota, would electrify it's 'Champ' pick up, since having a proper work bed available for it ... OMT ... I didn't just say that out loud
  17. Huge 1st meal for me @ 1300 hrs. Usually just the eggs. No need for a snack around 1500 hrs Eggs, spicy sausage, pumpkin, kale & Rye, smothered with butter Off for my healthy 🙄 morning / afternoon walk at the park, w/sunscreen 2k & vapor mask
  18. So ... only almost healthy air (and that a stretch) to breathe in only 20 of the 77 provinces of TH I'm not counting 20 ... as no 'Green' at all. source - IQAir site
  19. I always found the 'treasury' statements only suit themselves. Remember ... And yet ... 50% of earners, only pay <4% income tax ... Go figure
  20. Maybe Adolf will chime in with his opinion this week about Trump. One can only hope
  21. Too Late ... I already quoted it ... No, it's a good post, with my follow up, and should sway most intelligent people to stay away, unless they want to hang out in smoggy, hell-ish temps 😎 Go to Samui ... easy and cheap via ferry, or simply fly in. Lovely beaches, fresh air, and probably some P4P company for those not in a relationship ... ROCK ON
  22. Hey ... don't be sending people down here, as have too many already. Have to self entertain, bring your women (or dudes) with you, as no P4P here. Few restaurants with AC, and Ao Prachuap smells of sewage, so pick your viewing spot wisely. How hot ... DAMN HOT ... and it's only 11:20 AM & feels like HELL And the fresh air .... cough cough ... PM2.5 is 10X WHO's healthy lever of 6 µg/m³
  23. Don't know where I implied 10 folks taking part was justified, but spin your reply any way you wish. Quite normal replies here, and nothing to do with my post. Do suspect it wasn't just a random beating of a stranger minding his own business.
  24. Never lived beyond my means, why I could vacation (not hi so), anytime, anywhere at a whim, and retire early. Before moving to TH, only owned 1 new vehicle, and that was a work truck, for dependability. Lived in crap neighborhoods, usually while rehabbing (a little sweat equity) my next rental property. Building equity and income from non salaried jobs was always the priority. Independence from govt & corporations. Still live by that today, with solar, BEVs, and garden/greenhouse for whole foods & home cooking. Interesting hobbies & time consuming, as living life is. Yea, minimal TV viewing, and more living life. Oh honey, ready for my 2nd cup. Get my morning reading out of the way, before baking some Rye bread, then the dog will take me out to the park, for my morning walk. Need to hit Global House today, again, as having a small microwave on sale. Need one for the trunk of the car, when O&A, for making sure the market street food is at proper temp before eating, while munching at a nice viewpoint when O&A. Already travel with water kettle & French press for our coffee fix in the morning. Rolling stone collects no moss ... ROCK ON Cruising around with my 'Blue Jean Baby Queen', and the dog of course.
