What is your plan when China invades Taiwan?
KhunLA replied to Adumbration's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Can't blame price gouging on UA/RU, as just a fake excuse the corporation & govt use. Record profits prove that. I'm not playing the game with them. ICE car use down 95% Stop buying pork till price came back down Fruits & veggies at local fresh markets All easy enough to do, if needed or wanting for spite -
Dual Pricing Reconfirmed In Thailand National Parks

Last paid concert was 1D (that's embarrassing), and also EC in Thailand, and we paid the same price as Thais. And both were the most expensive concerts I ever attended. ???? HH Jazz festivals, used to be free, again, same as Thai price ???? Sporting event ... to watch a bunch of overpaid cry babies kneel ... that would never happen. Amusement Park - Disney 35 ish yrs ago, fairly expensive (not like today), but we all paid same price. Dream World (TH) - slight farang premium, but not 10-20X Thai price, and nobody forced me to enter. Never been forced to pay more than any local for any mandatory services. -

Not a fan of dual pricing, but nobody is forcing anyone to come to Thailand, or enter or use any services when here. Accept or avoid UP2U Life is full of choices. -

Before rainy season, wife heard crunch crunch crunch, in the brush, on the other side of the wall. Peeked over and saw large monitor on the hunt ... ???? -
What is your plan when China invades Taiwan?
KhunLA replied to Adumbration's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Absolutely nothing, as doubt it will affect us at all, and we couldn't do anything about it anyway. Nobody cares, except the people that will be dying, and family & friends of. As if it would ever happen anyway. Why would China do something so ridiculous, as no profit in that idea at all. If it happened, nobody would care. Nobody cared about millions in the past dying; Ukraine Syria Iraq Afghanistan Palestine Vietnam Africa ... pick a conflict, or just kids dying from no clean water. Humans don't care about anything. That's fairly obvious. What world are y'all living in ? When did anyone care. As stated, just wave the Taiwan flag, that will give you a warm & fuzzy feeling. I feel better already???? -
Dual Pricing Reconfirmed In Thailand National Parks
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thais are not going to pay 200-400 baht to enter a park. On the high end, that's a day's wage, per person. Would anyone pay $100 USD or 100 EUR per person, to enter any park in their home country. That's just silly. -
Rent to own is whatever you agree to pay, as a private contract between you and seller. Doesn't have to be higher or lower than anything, rent or mortgage. All things are negotiable in RE. I've drawn up contracts with 0 % interest & balloon payment at the end. No down payment, large down payments, adjustable rates, sliding scales ... it's all negotiable.

10 kw solar system with batteries for reserve power .
KhunLA replied to itsari's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Simply divide the total of your last bill by about 4.5, and that should give you a ballpark idea how many units / kW you are using monthly. The more you use, the more expensive it is, on a sliding scale. Our last bill was ฿3226.55 for 686 kW = 4.7034 per, and our most expensive bill in past 5 ish yrs. Usually runs between ฿2300-2800. The 506 kW month would be about ฿2300. -

Ditto with USA. Probably illegal to even do so. Oh well, not that most parks here are worth the Thai fee, or even if free. Not missing much. -
What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2022)

You never heard of 'Lease / rent to own', and simply creative financing. Problem I see, not enough paperwork for her protection. oops ... If you don't know how to do things, that's what RE lawyers are for. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rent-to-own On a positive, IF and when the bank forecloses, they'll put it up for sale, for the remaining loan balance, and you can buy it for her. Although since already spending about 500k, and depending what the remaining balance of mortgage that wasn't paid, it might not be much of a deal.

Wave of U.S. mass shootings continues in Tennessee & Pennsylvania
KhunLA replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
Philly, that's every week. I loved my happy hours pub crawls during the week, 1980s & 90s, around South St, but it got a little too 'dark' for me at about 2000 hrs, and usually on my way home by then or sleeping over, but definitely off the streets, well, South st. area. Officer shot at, but doesn't know if he struck a suspect at 10 meters ... yikes. Needs to spend some time at the gun range. Elsewhere in news, maybe one of those peaceful protests ???? ... "there was a group of about 40 people walking west on South Street, chanting something he couldn’t understand. He said he heard what sounded like somebody blowing a whistle (maybe PoPo), then all of a sudden, gunfire." https://www.inquirer.com/crime/live/philadelphia-shooting-south-street-dead-wounded-20220605.html Actually not much has changed over the past decades. 2020 was a bit higher than usual: https://mikenutterllc.com/news/news-item/philadelphia-homicides-1960-2020 -
Since assault weapons are basically banned anyway, and they already do background checks, I guess that isn't much of a surprise statement. "adding that negotiations are focused on mental health funding, school safety measures and “modest but impactful” gun control proposals." ... ???? That would be funny if it wasn't so sad. And y'all voted for these people. Som nam na

Could I buy a condo for 1 .5m baht?
KhunLA replied to Sparktrader's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
CM & HH, you may want to rent there, Nov - May, to see if you an tolerate smog season before buying in to anything. -
Don't think immigration is tough on anyone. Plenty of folks from neighboring countries enter to visit and especially work. Some locals may think too many. Shy of 40 million tourist pre-c19, that shy of 60% of the Thai population. Stretches the infrastructure to its limits, and a bit beyond in many places. Don't think more are needed.

You may want to suggest your friends shop online, instead of you dealing controlled substance across borders. A bit illegal, and actually isn't supposed to be discussed on the forum. Might want to download & start now, a 'go fund me' for bail & legal fees. Always good to get a headstart on these things.
