  1. Did you seriously dig up a 10 year old thread on getting the best chicken & rice meal 😆 The old thread only recommended one place anyway, so maybe try that one?
  2. Typical Bob Smith thread. He starts the thread on Thursday with what he considers a serious issue and it generates 4 pages of comments to help. Meanwhile he hasn't been back since he started the thread...
  3. Just one example but most agent sites I've seen say the same (just a heads up for @post but he'll soon confirm one way or another as he's flying out today) Who Is Not Eligible for a Thailand Re-Entry Permit? You are not eligible for a Re-Entry Permit for Thailand if you have one of the following: - A Thailand Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa or Multiple-Entry Non-Immigrant Visa, in which case, you can leave and re-enter the country multiple times for the duration your visa is issued, without it becoming forfeit. https://visaguide.world/asia/thailand-visa/re-entry-permit/
  4. I don't believe you can get a re-entry permit for a METV as it is already a multi entry visa. The METV expires on 30 Oct so he'll have to come back on a visa exempt (unless he gets another visa while he's away) @post
  5. I just walked the length of Pattaya beach and most umbrella vendors have open beer bottles on the tables, even the ones opposite the police station. Maybe it was just no beer at Jomtien beach?
  6. The what now? I thought that was the point, having a nice shady umbrella on the beach to enjoy a cold beer? As far as I know every single beach umbrella spot sells beer because tourists like it, but only two were closed for 15 days for doing so? "Initial findings revealed violations related to the sale of alcohol, as stipulated in Chapter 3, Section 27, which prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages and cannabis products in public areas." https://www.pattayamail.com/news/two-beach-umbrella-operators-found-violating-alcohol-sales-law-in-pattaya-477498
  7. As you asked about sunglasses, you need to get some proper Motorcycle sunglasses designed for riding. Mine are "ugly fish" and they automatically change from sunglasses in day to clear at night. Designed to fit easily into helmets
  8. If you haven't done a 90 day report in ages then you must travel? It's been posted that you have to do a 90 day report in person at Jomtien after every new entry to Thailand (after that online works again) I guess this means once I've filed my first report, the computer has a date I must file my next report by. If I leave and re-enter the country the new 90 day date no longer matches the expected computer date so it rejects the online submission.
  9. I did one 4 weeks ago. You go straight to the building on the right as you enter. There is a specific 90 day desk so you don't have to line up in the long info queue in the building on left. I had to fill in a TM47 form with copies of: - Passport ID page - last entry stamp - 12 month extension stamp - TM30 This was my first 90 day report so also had the 90 day date reminder notice. I assume next time I'll also need the last 90 day report they stapled in my passport (or online submission confirmation?)
  10. Now that the chart is readable, it shows that if OP is worried about money dying then just buy gold instead as it's going great guns 😉
  11. I think you can decide either way. Put the TM6 with your new passport and they'll keep it, or don't put it in your passport and it'll be no problem as well as they are used to no TM6 (have it with you) I presented a land border TM6 last December at Swampy, where I hadn't presented one for years. IO just kept it like they always had
  12. So you have been travelling to Thailand extensively for 16 years (and always had flight 5-6 months after arrival). You also have a brand new passport where IO would be viewing an extensive history on computer. I would think it perfectly normal for IO to be asking you questions given your significant history. That's all this seems to be as you weren't dragged off to the office or detention, you were stamped in and waived through.
  13. Well there are two people in this thread reporting they had problems with Visa exempt, and yet both were allowed to enter Thailand so how big a problem really?
  14. I bought my condo in 2009 and fees were 35 baht sqm/month. This amount wasn't cutting it and it was voted to increase it to 40 baht sqm in 2014 AGM. It's been running smoothly since and property has been well maintained at all times (15 year old buildings still look great)
  15. That's a pretty serious problem having limited driving skills as a taxi That's why I've used Nams last 5-6 years. Nice cars, always on time, and excellent safe drivers. A big Camry for 1200 baht is cheap (1000 for small car)
  16. That whole story has nothing to do with having a rent a ticket, rather you now say any onward flight out of Thailand must be from the same airport you arrive. What a load of rubbish!
  17. And for that we are forever thankful 😀
  18. So yet another doctor has said nothing wrong with you but you insist on seeing more and complaining about the cost for tests you asked for but don't need ...I think there's a word for that?
  19. So then people who've never been to Thailand before can't enter as they can't possibly have a TM30? Makes no sense as TM30 is expired anyway as soon as you leave Thailand when only on a visa exempt (TM30 only remains valid when you have multi entry visa or re-entry permit)
  20. Why would you ever have to show a TM30 when entering Thailand?
  21. New interest rates at Krungsri are out after the Central Bank dropped rates by 0.25%. The "Special Time Deposit-7 months" I'm on remains at 1.8% but they have done away with the 10 month one which was 1.9%. Fiixed deposits remain the same also at 2.2% for 36 months, 2.1% for 24 month and 1.7% for 12 months So central rate drop pretty much did nothing to the savings rate 😀
  22. Yep, he made a huge scene in the immigration office and annoyed the immigration officers that will soon conduct a house visit on him. All over 100 baht He should have just done the 90 day report online
  23. Just wear an open face helmet. Aside from easier glasses wear there's a huge visability advantage to that of a full face helmet
