Regarding size of the wallet and marriage things you mentioned, let me share something I have witnessed more than a decade ago(while I was still repeatedly applying for tourist visa in Vientiane, Lao capital). In Nongkai, I met a man who self-claimed "poverty stricken" painter living in the Isaan region. He also added he can only eat twice a day as he is constantly short of money. He was also travelling to Lao for Thai visa(at the expense of his supporter, kind and generous enough to cover all the costs involved). Still, he said he has been in a de facto husband and wife relationship with a Thai woman(whose family is living on farming in rural Thailand). That poor artist was an Asian man in his 50s. And he looked less than 5 feet.

Hello. Enough with all the negativity!

Hi, I quite liked the last line of your post; Nice to be here. That is something I constantly feel, really. Ever since my settlement in this kingdom. Happy to: Hear the bird chirp in the morning. See a wild squirrel running around on the telephone wires. Clouds move in the sky. A little gecko skates on the wall of my apartment room. Around myself, almost anything and everything look fresh and truly alive. Whatever time passed; I never get tired of them. Simply enjoy living here. No special events needed/expected. That is one thing I like best about this place. Thank your posting some positively inspirational words. Wish you have another good day. -
British Man Dies After First Muay Thai Fight on Koh Samui
black tabby12345 replied to Georgealbert's topic in Koh Samui News
Young man's death looks tragic. But I don't call it Misery. At least, he died while pursing his keen interest. And he actually once stood on the stage he dreamed of. This way, he could well accept own fate; dying for something he really loved, I presume. Not like being wasted in the senseless war he doesn't believe in. All deaths aren't equal... -

Regarding Thai kick boxing, it didn't start as the sport in the first place. Created as the Art of Killing for warzone combat. As Thailand has had the long history of territorial disputes with the neighboring countries(e.g. Burma) in old time. -
British Expats' Thai Villa Xanax Empire Lands them in Jail

If it is about the fake medicine, their charge may not be as serious as the illegal narcotics. But whatever they are prosecuted for in such a case, the same hellish state of their prison. That is one thing pretty sure about... -

They seem to be rather "lucky". As they don't have to go to Thai jail. -

Are they likely to be promptly deported, instead of prosecuted and jailed here? -

Xanax: Often used to relieve depression and anxiety. -
Yesterday, I looked for any support movement(sending donation to the remaining family members of the construction workers killed by the fallen building). I tried both in English and Thai(using google translate). But couldn't find any. Those people working at the construction sites, are often migrant workers(from the Isaan region of this kingdom). Due to the lack of employment opportunities back home, they are forced to come to bigger cities like BKK. Fast and shiny BTS and subway trains in the capital of this kingdom, all built by the hard work of such people(I have seen BTS under construction, during my first visit to Thailand in 98). They are mass of the nameless heroes of the nations while they are not treated well.

Just like the time of typhoon back in 08. That dictator rejected all of the aid offers(other than from the ASEAN member states). Groundlessly possessed with the fear(the free world might invade their country taking advantage of the chaos). At that time, part of the US 7th fleet was standing by, near the Andaman Sea, with the sufficient readiness of immediate rescue activities(if requested). They must have made quite a positive difference(if involved in the relief mission). A lot more than poorly equipped ASEAN nations' rescue teams(whose level of readiness is quite low).

They say it will come into effect in less than 2 months time. Still, no clear explanation(not even what website to look at to do it) from any sources. And it is said to involve both govt and private sectors (including airlines, travel agents, and accommodations), according some law firm's Youtube video on this topic. So what will ever happen to the people who couldn't lodge that new paperless arrival card in time? Unable to buy their ticket to depart? Denied boarding at the port of their departure? The worst, most immediate victims: Travelers/expats planning to visit/return to this kingdom around May this year. Absolutely unsure what to do, even unable to book their airline seats. I felt truly lucky that I have been here already, and having no intention of travel abroad this year. Another example of the harm caused by the inept bureaucrats full of Empty Pride. Too eager to jump on something new while often lacking capability to handle it correctly.

I, too, predict in the same way. Will soon fu*k up, and then, Thai bureaucrats realize they were only help creating needless mess. By introducing something they cannot maintain/handle. Their digital failure is already demonstrated by online 90 day report. Works on someone. But doesn't work on someone else. And it never worked on me. And they cannot even pinpoint why it doesn't work. Does Thailand turn away those who couldn't lodge their new paperless arrival card?

Bangkok Shop Owner Defends Right to Sell Controversial Shirts
black tabby12345 replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Ignorance? She started to sell that shirt as she knows what is going on, what Ruscists are doing to Ukraine. And promoting that merchandise is her way of fighting against it. I call her Brave, not Ignorance. It would certainly make Ruscists uncomfortable though. Ruscists=Russ military expansionists(pro-invasion soldiers/civilians) -
