Here is a good example Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart—you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it’s true!—but when you're a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me —it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?), but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners—now it used to be three, now it’s four—but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us. de dollarization gaining speed
bunnydrops replied to watgate's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I read that Russia is spending 6% of GDP on defense this year, up 36% from last year, with unemployment at 3%. Their economy is doing great at the moment, but sending all those farm boys off the war may lead to problems in the near future. Economies need to dispose of product. The Space race was good because you could put a lot of resources and manpower into something and light a fire under it and it is all gone, start over and repeat. Very little human or future consequences. War on the other hand takes care of the resources and manpower, but with lots of human and future consuquences. -
My Thai visa is in an expired passport
bunnydrops replied to tac's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
GO get your passport renewed. I know someone who got theirs done in around 2 weeks. She even had a conditional PP. Then I would go and have the stamps transferred. Maybe they won't notice and if they do, they will work something out🙄. Other than that go and get doc from the embassy so you can leave the country. -
Former CDC Director Predicts Imminent Bird Flu Pandemic
bunnydrops replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The fear of the bird flu infecting humans has been going on for some time. I don't normally get flu shots, mostly out of just not being bothered to do so, but I remember my last one in 2006. I had planned to come to Thailand that year and the US advised those who did to get flu shots. They were concerned that if you got the flu while in Thailand and you also got exposed to the bird flu virus, the virus could interact with each other and produce a new strain -

Engaging with Russians during wartime in Thailand?
bunnydrops replied to Jingthing's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
So far I have spoken to only one. Young guy. I was sitting at that corner place down from Buddy's on Khao San having a beer while waiting for my flight out. Nice guy, tattooed, Mohawk. I, being an older American, I don't think either of us wanted to bring up the subject of the war. -
Out where I live in Thailand the police don't bother you, no matter what you use. But I thought that legally if it had a motor, it had to be licensed unless it was pedal assist. I am in the States at the moment and the variety of pedal-assist bikes is mind-blowing and most come from China. https://www.amazon.com/Viribus-Electric-Tricycle-Battery-Bicycle/dp/B0C2GZ1ZJX?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=AYIABTGNRAN3E&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Adult+Electric+Bicycles&i=sports-and-fitness&rh=n%3A3405141%2Cp_36%3A17784044011&page=3&c=ts&qid=1718814825&rnid=17784038011&ts_id=3405141&ref=sr_pg_3

I've fallen into Grab (food) "customer service" hell!

I don't know how you updated the app, but I had a similar problem with another app that updating didn't work. What did work was deleting the stored data. You will have to reenter your username and password. -

I must have one of the most secure cc in the world. They send me a notification within 10 min of any use of the card and the amount. They give a different virtual cc number for each online store and utility bill collector that can't be used by any of the others. Of course, it doesn't stop getting skimmed in a crowded place, there are special wallets for that, or if you wear an aluminum hat, you could put it in there😉. Also on top of that, I black out the security number so it can't be read by eye or photocopied. You still have to look out for the skimmers that look like rain coverers they put on the ATMs.

Passport renewal question
bunnydrops replied to bunnydrops's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I was hoping that would be the case. Its a lot easier for me to get it here. They can do it at the local PO -
I lived in a tent on the college grounds while going to school for a couple of quarters. They did catch me finally and the dean of the school said he would let me stay, but that the board of directors got wind of it and had to move back into my Volkswagon bus. I rode the rails for short hops in the NW. I knew of one person that died on a long haul. The guy he was traveling with thinks he got up to take a piss and fell off. When his friend woke in the morning he was gone. They didn't find his body for two months.

I am now Stateside with a passport with a reentry stamp. My passport needs to be renewed about 2 months after I return, but I would like to renew it before I return to Thailand. Will immigration accept the stamp in a canceled passport if you also have the renewed passport with you?

Same story local. House was broken into, found CCs with the password written on the backs----money gone. I think in the States every transaction is filmed and recorded by transaction so they would have a photo of the person that does it. Doubt they do that here. EDIT I missed they had photo -
