  1. I don't know much about the blueberry market, but if a Thai makes 500 baht a day, 2500 a week, maybe 130,000 baht a year. 14 times that would be 1820,000 baht or around $52,500 US dollars. Market value of blueberries in the US last year was $1.40 a lb. So they would have to pick 38,335 lbs. I don't know how long the Fin picking season is so I will guess 12 weeks, 60 days if 5 day work week. That comes out to around 640 lbs a day, if a 7 day work week, 84 days 460lbs a day 46 lbs an hr for a 10 hr day. Very hard work!
  2. Does she work? If you can afford it, move out and let her stay there. I think you will still feel like you want to continue to pay for the boys education. Give her the least amount of money to survive. Maybe she would take a cash amount. That way you would not be paying for ever.
  3. Rogue Brewery Fat Tire Ale. Its what I drink back in the States. I found it served in a Hotel near the airport a couple of years back. Lao Dark I will drink here--- but to be truthful, I drink less beer here because I think all the local beers are <deleted>.
  4. Doc comes in and says " I have good news and bad news" "The good news is your penis is now twice its size" " The bad new is its gangrened"
  5. As I said they made the point of saying to be sure the Thai wife is said to be the one that did the shooting.
  6. Many years ago just north of Korat there was a string if armed robbery of farang homes. The polices called for a meeting of the local farang population and during the meeting it was suggested that they buy guns. The police said that if they ever shot someone during a robbery, it would be bestto say it was the Thai wife that did the shooting and not the farang.
  7. The wife was out, the wife's boyfriend finds that his 300000 is gone after being with her, he doesn't climb a wall but came to the front door wanting his money back. I find it funny that everyone is swallowing this one sided story told by the only one standing,
  8. I am in the state of Oregon now and this is a screen shot of the states breakthrough data for the last 6 weeks. It seems there is more than you would think.
  9. I can't really answer the question but I have never seen a tractor with license plates. But when I went in to get my Thai driver license, they made a point of saying you still needed a drivers license to drive one on the road, Which drivers license would be required for a quad, golf cart. Bike or car? Need to wear helmet?
  10. Boy was I glad that you said "here in Thailand / Asia." I have been a good boy here----back home---- not so good.
  11. There must be some subtle difference in the transfers from and to different banks. I send from the US using "money for family" to Bangkok Bank and they always show FTT,
  12. I want to add that I almost went and had that procedure where they somehow stitch a knot in your esophagus where from then on, as the doc said " everything from then on goes south, you can't even vomit" I somehow didn't feel comfortable with that even if I hadn't vomited in years.
  13. Almost 20 years ago I had GERD really bad. I tried antacids, over the counter and doctor prescribed H blockers. Raised the head of my bed until I was almost standing, began sleeping in a chair---- Nothing worked, One day I was working at a house owned by a nurse, She told me to stop taking anything and carry a bottle of water around with me. She said just sip often, don't drink it as the water could make it worse, just keep washing the throat with the water. I don't remember how long it took, but it went away and I have had very little problem with it since.
  14. I didn't even know they had limits until a friend of mine that was having a house built here was told he hit their yearly limit (US) and would not be able to transfer any more till the beginning of the year. My last transfer from the US, 2 hours,
  15. My time here in Thailand has seen many a Thai dying at home with grace. I have also seen a farang in the hospital begging for someone to kill him, being kept a live because his insurance was paid up. We all die, pay what you want to get a few more days, but in the end its the same.
  16. I agree, but there isn't as far as I know a way to prove that someone has been vaccinated. I, in the states now have been fully vacced but all I have is a card in my wallet with no bar code, I don't know of any centralized data base, national or international.
  17. "let the air out" I learned that trick many tears ago when I got stuck in the sand in Mexico.
  18. Walked in, paid 50, walked out with certificate. May have cost more if I was carried in.
  19. One just built in my village, complete with aircon in 3 rooms (two smaller in bedrooms and one large in living room). 10.4 a sq M
  20. As for laptops I would go with Asus or Acer. I have 3 old ones under my desk right now, Never had a problem with them except the battery went dead on one. Back in the day I used to build my own decktops, even then I tended to use Asus motherboards. Although I have had a couple of HPs decktops with little problems, I have found that I have had lots of problems with other hardware from them.
  21. Two Judy Collins, Where the time goes and I my life
  22. I understand your point. But maybe in this case I thought like a Thai. I dated many girls for as long as 5 years. I really didn't want to get married. But as I got into my 60s, I decided that it was time and was looking for someone for that purpose.
  23. Pretty much my story. Met on Thaikisses, Married 2 months after I met her. A hard working woman. Even though I told her she didn't have to work, she works everyday for less than 500 baht a day when here in Thailand. ^ months out of the year we go back to the US where she got a job working in landscaping. 11 years together now. I recommend the book "Thai Fever" to learn about how Thai women think.
