  1. From the time I got my pocket picked, I put my wallet in my front pocket. Then after the phones started getting bigger I got a cross shoulder purse. First mainly for air travel, now all the time. Carry phone, wallet, pens, small notepad, ear phones.
  2. Mexico was my first choice for a long time but the cost of living there went up a lot. I would not live in the big tourist areas of Mexico. Oaxaca was my choice of place to live. I do like Mexican food more than Thai. I don't really like Mexican women. They like the men wear their emotions on their shirt sleeves. Loving and kind one minute, cutting your throat the next.
  3. Again the 4 stroke is the way to go. I have a Honda, my brother in law bought a knockoff that looks just like mine but weights quite a bit less, he has had it 2 years now, seems to work fine. A couple of things I have learned. When you buy the string, soak it in water overnight, it will soften and break less. For the bumpers, you need to wind the sting very tight. Why they don't work is that the out feed string gets pulled tight and wedged between the strings in the layer below it.
  4. I have known it the past several US citizens went to Mexico to give birth. https://thewanderinginvestor.com/services/residency-and-citizenship-by-investment/give-birth-in-mexico-for-citizenship/
  5. I don't think he was talking about his wife https://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-pol-melania-trump-parents-citizenship-20180810-story.html
  6. I had one attack in my 40s. I lived rural and drove myself to the hospital. Half way there the pain got so bad that I stopped the car and round out into the ditch. By the time I did get to the hospital the pain was completely gone so I didn't go in. Second time in my late 50s. The pain wasn't so bad, I just laid in bed for a couple of days. Then 70s, it was bad, pain so bad I wanted to die for about 6 hrs, then gone, but about 24 hrs later the same. Even before the pain started I could sense it coming. The third day, the same. Off to the hospital. 1 1/2 hr drive (I didn't drive). By the time I got there the pain was almost gone but they gave me some pain killers that really worked. Saw a Doc afterwards and had the thing pulled. About 7 years now, no noticeable effects.
  7. Flew in to the US last week on ANA. Attendants only wore when serving. Maybe 5% onboard wore masks. Here in S. Oregon again maybe 5%, mostly older on the streets, but it seems a bit more younger people wearing in markets. I read that besides the filtering of the air on planes, the air is exchanged with outside air quite a lot.
  8. Several years ago a friend and his wife flew in using their US passports. He then got an 30 day extension. When they left to return to the US his wife used her US passport. She was fined for overstay since she did not think she needed an extension due to her being a Thai citizen. She showed her Thai ID card, but to Immigration, you come in as an foreigner, you must follow the rules as a foreigner.
  9. It hit me about a week ago that I hadn't seen any post from him. Really sad news.
  10. Confused! Was the dog smoking too, or was the Pot your homework?
  11. I find it funny that people would wish ill will on someone that does not want to get involved or disagrees with something their country is doing. I know some of you are lock step "My country right or wrong" types, but to wish that someone that agrees with your view should fight and die fighting against your view sounds really messed up.
  12. Thanks Somebody, I knew you wouldn't let me down????
  13. Do a search. One ended about a week ago. Hey, Somebody liked my post!
  14. Do a search, this has been talked about before
  15. I listened to Russian blogger who brought up this problem. He said many that left because of the war were now having problems since it takes 5 months to get a new PP from their embassy. The embassy does not give out temp PPs, and you do not get the new one without turning in your old one.So they have no choice but to return to Russia for the renewal.
  16. Someone needs to dry them and market as a health aid.
  17. Something similar is happening here. She wants her husband to move out, so her boyfriend can move in. He won't go. Everyone including her children (from a prior marriage) thinks she is out of her mind. The rumor is she says she plans to leave him with nothing, she got a loan out on the house with plans to default. They were married 16 years.
  18. Amazing save by the ambulance driver. I find that the problem is not just with Thai drivers. The ambulance drivers drive with the lights flashing all the time, even when not an emergency. In this case the ambulance driver seems to come into an intersection against the light without even slowing down. When inside a car it is difficult to know where the siren is coming from. I haven't heard it here, but in my home country the sound of the siren is changed when the ambulance is nearing an intersection. Much more rapid, and louder.
  19. I am pretty sure his marriage is registered. Every year you need to bring in that form from the local office showing you are still married to get an extension.
  20. Remind me not to surf this forum before dinner!
  21. Just one https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/tucker-carlson-fired-worst-things-he-said-racism-immigrants-1234722751/
  22. That is true. A Thai word for "life" is ชีพ pronounced "cheep"
  23. The real problem that I see is that it is not installed correctly. I see them just lay it on the sand. It should be up 1/3 the thickness of the slab. Sometimes I see them reach down and pull it up, but if they miss a spot, it is useless. Should be supported with little blocks before the pour.
  24. The stickiness has lot has to do with the age of the rice. We grow rice, but rarely eat the first year crop. The second year is still soft but not sticky.
  25. If I remember right, in an earlier case against Tucker Carson. The Fox argument was that the show is not a news program but an opinion piece and falls ruffly under entertainment, and the viewers should view as such. I believe Fox won that case. Of course the viewers take it as truth. Fox needs to state as does many newspaper do at the end of an article that "the opinions of the speaker are not necessarily those of Fox"
