Because our wonderful Thailand Post failed to deliver a pension 'Life Certificate' letter (they also nicked every single Christmas card and birthday card last year) my pension didn't arrive this month. I rang Newcastle, answered a few security questions and asked for the form to be sent by email, which it immediately was. Why couln't they have done that in the first place? The woman in Newcastle said they would pay my pension this month. But that was a week ago and I've not received it. Has anybody had the same treatment and how long was it before the missing payment arrived?

As the title says. I may need to send about 20,000 baht from my Kasikorn Thai account to my UK HSBC current account which is in joint names. Does anybody know for sure if this is possible?

When I first arrived here many years ago we had to go from Khon Kaen to Nong Khai immigration office. For four consecutive months I had to go back to Nong Khai before the marriage visa was eventually granted. My Canon MF 3010 mono laser printer works fine when scanning and copying and I can change the toner density when copying. But when I print a document the output is too faint and I cannot find where to adjust it. In the 'preferences' section when you print there is an toner adjustent "off/custom settings" setting but that has no effect. Any suggestions anybody?

Yes, because that passport is the one in immigration's system until you receive the new one and have the stamps moved over. I suggested renewing after the next 90 day report because that then gives you the next 90 days to renew your passport.

I am sure HMPO do not inform Thai immigration when a UK passport is cancelled. OP Use an agent and apply immediately after your next 90 day report. Take all the stapled-in immigration paperwork out of your passport before sending it to the agent and keep it safe. Using an agent will save you flying to BKK to submit your application and then flying home. Then eventually flying down to BKK to collect your new passport and flying back again. The agent will also use their credit card to pay the fee, and copy every page as needed for the application. I applied last month and received my new passport 4 weeks later. But that was before the HMPO new strike. The agent keeps your passport so if you need it back for immigration they'll send you it, but you must return it as the agent needs it to collect the new one when it arrives.

I did my passport change just two days ago. The only thing that caught me out was I need a copy of every page of the old passport. Straightforward and no fee. Ten years ago 200 baht was asked for.

I tried some years ago in Khon Kaen. The boss of the office in the amphur complex was rude in the extreme shouted at my wife asking if she could read or write (she has an BA and an MA) and refused on the grounds that I was retired and thus didn't pay tax. We were both dressed very conservatively.

I sent my UK passport for renewal to an agent in Pattaya on 20th Feb and today received notification it's ready to collect. Allowing time for post from Isaan to Pattaya, a day or two for the agent to copy passport and go to Bangkok to deliver to Trendy that makes it a month for renewal which isn't bad in my eyes.
