Bob we live in different worlds. You have posted here moaning about drunks peeing on your gate, and being loud. Where live I have never experienced that once. So we see things differently to say the least.

Ao Nang did not impress me at all. Just a Thai beach town full of travellers and cheap restaurants that are basically all alike. Hard to find a simple Thai restaurant. If it was Krabi town a solid yes, but Ao nang is run down and simply dirty.

Just a heads up. Did my yearly retirement visa today and it went smooth save for the fact there is no TBB bank downstairs at Immigration Changwattana anymore. They said moved to building A but that is not the case. It is on the road between Buildings A and B and you have to go through a military gate to get to it. Advise to update somewhere else as its not easy. I had a 9:30 appointment but missed it due to having to run around to the bank for passbook update, arrived at document checking at 10:00, documents were in order and had my passport back just before 11:00 which was reentry permit time, that took less than 20 minutes so not a bad day at Immigration.

Tomorrow is renew visa day. As I recall I have to sign each and every copy of each and every document I photocopied, is this correct? The signature is simply at the bottom of the page? -

1970 to 74. Dodge Charger, 383 V8 with a Holley 4 barrel carb. Damn it was fun, but eventually gave it up for something more practical upon university graduation. 1970-Dodge-Charger-RT-Se----Mecum2.avif -
Agreed especially with weather like we have been having. This one the Dark Chocolate Brownie is really nice, but hard to find.

$185.00USD is the fee for the visa. There is no deposit, if you meet the criteria a visa is issued, if not the fee is gone. -

An idiot, he broke down when it was found. In the loo of the plane doing a last line before landing. Did not pick the right place to stash it on exiting the bathroom and got done. No, was that was slipped in by an immigration officer. Think about it- seriously. -
I shopped at the original Foodland on Ploenchit 40 years ago. Foodland is a supermarket. Took La See is the diner inside most. But they are separate. Meet me at Took La Dee is clear, but at my Foodland there are two entrances. Semantics no big deal..

Perhaps if you named the restaurant as Hauptmann did people including me would have understood what you were saying better.

TM7 Document required checklist?
marin replied to Gandtee's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Surreal experience today. Had booked on-line (can only be done 3-5 weeks ahead and fills up quickly) but arrived ca 2.5 hours before the appointed time. Place was largely deserted with banks closed. Collected a TM.7 with attached forms (where you confirm your address, acknowledge the terrible things that will happen to you if you overstay or work, etc) from the front desk and filled in the forms. Trip to one of the copy shops downstairs. Decided to take a gamble and went to the que desk, showed my on-line appointment. A very friendly lady said no need to wait 2h, gave me a que number and send me to counter L-27 for the 'document check'. Just as last year this took only about a minute, they just seem to check if the main items are there and that you have filled in everything. Wrote a counter number on my TM.7 (not the one for the on-line appointment) and there I was helped immediately by a rather cheerfull IO. Here it took only 15-20 mins to check the papers, make 500 or so signatures , take a pic and pay the fee. After another 10 min got my passport back with the signed extension. From arriving at the que desk to walking out took exactly 30 min but obviously this was a rather unusual day. Handed in were: -TM.7 (application form) with one pic. -Passport and copies of relevant pages -Bank letter (one day old, they confirmed it can be up to 7 calender days old but you need to update your passbook at the day of application) -Bankbook and copies of front page and transactions going back 13 months or so. -Hand drawn map of apartment location (yes they kept this and had me sign it) -Copy of last 90-day report (TM.47) -1,900 B Now usually the bankletter came with an additional balance sheet for the previous 3 months but this time it only covered the past month. The IO outlined the transactions over the previous 3 months in red on the copy of my bankbook. Note that depending on your circumstances (maybe hiring from a private landlord, having a large number of transactions in your bankbook which are sometimes 'pooled' , etc..) they may ask for additional papers. -

Tm7 ...no new arrivalcard
marin replied to LudwigK's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Calm down, no worries, you dont need two threads. They have become redundant and are not used anymore. Is a Thailand arrival card still required in 2024? The TM6 form is the arrival/departure card, which foreigners are required fill out with their passport information and other personal and travel information when entering or leaving Thailand. The form was permanently cancelled for foreign travellers arriving by air since July 2022.Apr 14, 2567 BE -

KLA, I think you can see by the nick where I grew up. Have not been back in 5 years due to covid and work schedules. Have twins one in LA and one in SF. The LA daughter is working for Space X and we are looking forward to touring the Hawthorn facility. The SF daughter has a media consultancy. Have not seen either since they started this. Also I have a 50 year college reunion up in Crescent City. Looking forward to driving the whole of California and southern Oregon on the coast. Here the wife and I are like you often taken 3 day to 10 day domestic road trips around Thailand. -

I have always gone to T-Mobile but they have changed to an online company called Ultra. I have this package waiting at my daughters house in SF, the best I could find. $39.99 for 15GB and a month. https://www.ultramobile.com/product/15gb-prepaid-plan/?attribute_months=1-month-plan -
