  1. Actually I didn't notice the gardeners, something of a plus.
  2. I signed up at the other place, but got bored. The grass wasn't greener and the lawn was much smaller.
  3. Well if people were dumb enough not to read the fine print before taking a holiday on Phuketraz they'll get very little sympathy from me or I think most people.
  4. Had first shot AZ waiting for 2nd dose
  5. I would think the this Thai Smile information piece is equally applicable to VietJet. Nothing required flying to Bangkok, flying back to Surat Thani you need to show proof of vaccination or a negative test result.
  6. Nope, I was just hazarding a guess. The OP said "adjacent country is making us unwelcome after living there many years". Malaysia, an adjacent country, recently announced revisions to the MM2H programme that would increase offshore income requirements from $10k to $40k per month. So it seemed highly likely the OP was talking about Malaysia. Hopefully the OP will return and enlighten us. .
  7. Because that's their business model. They're a peer to peer bank, they don't physically transfer money, rather they match transfers with partners in Thailand. Your GBP transfer from the UK would be matched with someone wanting to move THB to the UK. So your GBP stay in the UK and move to recipients in the UK, whilst the person in Thailand's money remains in Thailand and goes to your account. You change GBP to THB and the other person changes THB to GBP without any money crossing borders. .
  8. Malaysia, my second home (if you can afford it), I'm guessing. Though the revisions to MM2H haven't been approved and with the change in government I suspect they may well not go through with it. Though the damage is already done.
  9. This article was in Hat Yai Today a couple of days back, seems there's a new project. Pictures don't show any bitumen this time. https://www.hatyaitoday.com/abandoned-stone/
  10. Hat Yai Immigration is certainly far less dramatic than some of the other immigration offices around the country, if posts in the Immigration Forum are any guide. They've been more efficient during Covid, primarily because there are far fewer customers, I just hope they persist with the Line App for appointments and queries post Covid as it saves a lot of time.
  11. Malaysia is in the process of messy its scheme up, with the same goal in mind, these wonderful high net worth people who are going to save their post-Covid economy. Unfortunately there are many countries thinking the same and the jam only spreads so far. I'm reminded of the saying "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush".
  12. Go to the currency selector on the menu bar, it brings up a the currency options and at the top the option to show base price or total price.
