Google translation from a Thai source (topnews.co.th): The incident occurred on Road 331, inbound to Sattahip, Village No. 5, Takhian Tia Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District. Chonburi Province I borrowed a much better view of the incident and marked the desired U-turn. Now think what an adventure it is to cross over with such a creeping vehicle. Right lane allowed speed 90 km/h.

It's not precise but plausible. 331 direction south to Sattahip. "Near" Pattaya: 331 is about 16 km direct line from Pattaya beach but of course much closer to the "darkside". The spot seems to be three lanes of concrete, same like near rd 3240 which leads to the darkside. Drove there last July first time after many years and was "shocked" what has become of the "rural" two lane road of the past. It was a wide terrible junk of concrete with lots of construction still going on (wide as a motorway). I missed the "rathole" underpass over to 3240. Very unpleasant driving and not a good path for a "rag and bone man" with his saleng. I am split in judging about these vehicles. Sure they should not be on such roads (I hate it). On the other hand for the poor it's an affordable way to make some money to survive.

Udon Thani airport immigration
KhunBENQ replied to thaiasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The new airport feels oversized (for now). Bad news was in the forum. AirAsia gives up Phuket from Udon and Khon Kaen from end of March. -
Udon Thani airport immigration
KhunBENQ replied to thaiasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
And I am not aware of any international flights at Khon Kaen currently. At the old airport before COVID they had installed two immigration desks for some flights from China. But as far as I know this has all died down. Don't be fooled by the term "international airport". Just says that they COULD handle international traffic. -
Which of these apps have you used for TAXI ?
KhunBENQ replied to Startmeup's topic in General Topics
BOLT Worked OK for local transport in Pattaya and cheap. In Phuket mixed experience. Driver not capable to understand that I am at the DOMESTIC terminal. Took endless. Terrible noise from at least 3 mobiles in the car (ding dong ding dong at full volume... driver fiddling on the devices). Price not much less than regular taxi. On the way back in the morning needed almost 20 minutes to catch one. Repeated cancellations. As Phuket if off the list for me there is no chance of using again anyway. -
The person "scanner" reacts to metal. Notes would not trigger. Coins and gold bars would of course😁 Still don't know what all the fuss is about (regarding entry to Thailand). Up to 20k USD no need to declare. More money can be declared and you should get a certification. And if you have proof of legal source (e.g. account statement, withdrawal), what is to be feared.

Indeed. Why do they fiddle with such microchanges and not care for more important tidying like the scattered date fields...
-
On the back, the "Changwat..." has been aligned with the Thai phrase. But really if that is all...
-
For entering Thailand there is no need to hide such amount. Up to 20k USD does not need to be declared. Of course different countries/different rules for leaving/entering.

Bank Book copied in Colour
KhunBENQ replied to dick turpin's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The first few years I had color copies at Khon Kaen. No complaint. After throwing out the bothersome ink jet all in B/W. Sign with blue color ball pen 😊 -

Thailand braces for cold front and fierce monsoons
KhunBENQ replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News Headlines
Severe? Fierce? Such dramatic words. Today at noon I gave up and switched on AC in the car. Misc weather forecasts for our area show a chilly 16 C (60 F) for tomorrow morning, cool 29 C ( 84 F) at noon and unbelievable wind speeds of 7 kph. Today some leafs have fallen from the trees. Believe or not -
Motorcycle Accident on Jomtien Second Road Claims Two Lives
KhunBENQ replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Save the effort. 4 AM, high speed 2nd road Jomtien. We didn't do a bit of a race competition, didn't we? Those bloody curves. You can put as many signs as you want. Speed bumps and tank barriers is the only means that these hooligans understand. -
Deciphering (keynumbers) from a public hospital bill?
KhunBENQ replied to KhunBENQ's topic in Health and Medicine
Another aspect. As far as I know it's officially supported to charge foreigners (uninsured) significantly higher. On the other hand: his price for the single bed room for 11 nights would be good for 1.5 days at Bangkok hospital 😊 (13000/night). -

Chinese Man Falls to His Death From Pattaya Condo

This condo? You know it specifically? Generally: I am only 172 cm (5"7) and still it's more like belly button when visiting friend or mates 😁 -

You did a new registration to the forum for this question. You speak Thai fluently. Do you really expect to get better information about this nebulous alarming suspicion than tomorrow at your branch? -
Great 3BB deal 500mbps cont'd, Speed test - 3BB app
KhunBENQ replied to notrub's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
3BB prices went down over the years. But longtime customers still pay their initial price. Is it worth to contact them and request a new price? And after AIS took over 3BB I lost sight about all the offers and prices 🙄 -
Great 3BB deal 500mbps cont'd, Speed test - 3BB app
KhunBENQ replied to notrub's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
To the point. Now you know that AN won't get any faster with whatever Gbit rate you have 😁 Many users, popular time of day/day of week, another coup and it will go down. -
Great 3BB deal 500mbps cont'd, Speed test - 3BB app
KhunBENQ replied to notrub's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Exactly that. Testing to THEIR next/fastest test server. And that might be the last time you have seen 1 Gbit/s 😊 Fastest rate in practical life I have seen was about 800 Mbit/s while downloading a Windows 10 installation package. YouTube downloads between 300 to 400 Mbit/s. Downloads from some German TV "Mediathek" about 200 Mbit/s. As a reminder: the highest quality Netflix stream requires 50 Mbit/s. When does such a package makes some sense: if a whole family/house is using it. For a single person it's indeed overkill. -

Which ridicules your (theoretical) expecting. I doubt you have the very latest Wifi6 both on laptop and router. So your test result is quite perfect. And it's just a test result. Tell me how you would notice a difference between 300 and 1000 Mbit/s as single private user? -
Deciphering (keynumbers) from a public hospital bill?
KhunBENQ posted a topic in Health and Medicine
A mate has been in a public hospital at the district town for 12 nights. He sent me a copy of his bill (all in Thai). The bill has different sections with a headline followed by some key numbers (six in a row). "21201" is easy: "special room" aka single bed room. Under a headline meaning medical material/equipment there are numbers starting with "52" like 52013... Anyone has an idea whether this is a standardized catalog for all public hospitals and where to find?
