Gridlocks are the norm on a Saturday. A Baht creeper every 50 m doesn't make it better. India men in lengthy discussion with driver about Pattaya attractions and possible fare reduction also no good The one ways for Soi Diana (13) and Soi Honey (11) didn't help much.

Thai woman defends drunk foreign boyfriend in Pattaya crash
KhunBENQ replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Fines for reckless driving. And what about the heavy intoxicated state? Usually means arrest until court appearance and much higher fines. Bail out from arrest until court for 30000 Baht or so. (from a first hand report) -
PM Paetongtarn Orders Action as Air Pollution Reaches Hazardous Levels
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Stop all burning and Bangkok would still be polluted to hazardous levels. Bad weather pattern, cold, little wind and the exhaust fumes will lay like a blanket. It's called smog. Read about the deadly London smog desaster of 1952 and know what can happen. At the same time they come up with the idea to make Diesel trucks (with inferior filtering) even more affordable with less sales tax, tax preference for Diesel fuel. Genius. -
If only they would finish it before I make an exit. Lot of concrete is probably there for 10 years(?) now.

Anyone use these nasal cleaner type bottles?
KhunBENQ replied to scubascuba3's topic in Health and Medicine
Yep. That's what I use occasionally. Actually a smaller bottle. Cut the tip wide enough for the nose. I try to use de-congesting nasal spray as rarely as possible, Have sinusitis since ages. -
Steps to Replace a Lost 5-Year Thai Driving License
KhunBENQ replied to Mister_Very_Nice's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I collected some up to date info from a Thai language website. To answer questions that you did not ask : there is no more need to do a police report (as in the past). Can go to the DLT office directly. No tests to undergo. New license card will have same expiry date as the lost one. Thai International driving permit: can't be wrong to have it with you although it's not needed for the process. Passport photos make no sense. Picture taken at DLT office as usual before printing new license card. Of course you have to take your passport and do copies of main page, visa, permission to stay. Two things I can't answer for sure: New residence certificate needed? (TM30 OK? Can also vary by office) Medical certificate necessary? I would get one, 100 to 200 Baht or so at any roadside clinic, valid for 30 days (DON'T go to fancy hospitals). If documents complete it's done in a single visit. Whether or not an appointment is needed/required depends on office. (I could just walk in and as no tests etc needed this might work at most offices) -
New tablet for 2k THB. Fake specifications?
KhunBENQ replied to JeffersLos's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Why pay so much? "Powerful" tablets on Shopee for 380 Baht One from the famous "SANSUMG" (logo) for only 1790. -

Easy to beat. But 500??? Has a stinky sugar cane truck blown into the sensor? The whole country up north is heavily affected. Worse than I remember from the past. It maybe worsened by the current cold spell maybe combined with weak winds.

Nine Deadly Days Claim 393 Lives and Injure Over 2,200
KhunBENQ replied to Georgealbert's topic in Thailand News
393/9~43 As usual the numbers are below all year average. Taking into account that more vehicles on the road than on average days it's even less "deadly". Just outdated PR show. As I say there is nothing "safer" here than massive jams, gridlocks, long columns. -

The news article does not say a word about sunbathing. Some higher being must have added that. -
Couple's Beachfront Frolic in Pattaya Sparks Outrage Online
KhunBENQ replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
All photos in the related news article are in the dark. So sunbathing is completely misleading. Again some voyeurs had a hard time to see a wiener. -

Scores of Russians Injured in Bus Crash At Pattaya Toll Booth

Why not read at least the bold print. It was not that mini bus that you write about Even the toughest tour operator could not stuff 37 people in an 11 seater. -

Woke up just before the toll booth and in panic grabbed the wheel. Even the most crazy driver would not approach a toll booth in warp speed. -

Bank of Thailand Boosts Mobile Security with New Transfer Limits
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Sounds like tightening the rules they tried to introduce a while ago. Facial recognition for transfer over 50k. I have accounts at Bangkok Bank, Kbank and SCB. Kasikorn has changed nothing. SCB was unable to set up facial recognition for foreigners. Got a waiver. BKB set up facial recognition and it's a mess. Unreliable to the max. I have given up using them for larger transfers. Paid my car with a single transfer about 700k from SCB last May. Please do not force that for the other banks. What is elderly? I am 67.- 136 replies

Do you bother to copy and paste urls?
KhunBENQ replied to josephbloggs's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Other sites have started to show a "really want to leave the site bla bla" warning that you have to confirm. Better than what is done here. Net nanny for the incompetent. Lock your children in the house as the world outside is so dangerous. A complete perversion of the initial ideas of www. Sir Tim won't be happy.
