Did some sniffing. Downloaded this "MEmu-setup-abroad-sdk-mv.exe". VirusTotal online showed 16 of 68 scanners having suspicion, But none of the major virus scanners has any detection. The MEmu-setup-abroad-sdk-mv.exe is a self extracting file. I used 7zip to manually extract. This also shows no suspicious content. Basically the whole thing will install an Android emulator and I guess afterwards you will be able to run the MyAIS on the PC(?). https://www.file.net/process/memuservice.exe.html Vague suspicion but no clear "dangerous" verdict. I wouldn't install. What for?

Maybe you should have seen the complete "Global Peace Index" and realize that they rank the USA lower than Thailand. And as you compare Thailand as a whole with crime plagued cities your statement becomes even bigger nonsense. And of course they disclaim that a country index can still mean that there are unsafe locations/cities within the countries. Compare a country with a city does not make sense. And yes, Nutbush city maybe safer than Pattaya. I would still walk any street in Bangkok with less concern compared to any street in New York, LA, SF etc. Up here in the village I can walk the dog and leave the door unlocked. https://www.visionofhumanity.org/maps/#/

Interesting read compared to what the DLT promises for all offices: easy walk-in for such services like DL extensions 5yr/5yr What I expect to do here: in March one day after birthday motorbike ride to office with passport, medical cert, car DL, yellow book/pink card and e-learning QR. Should be out before noon.

Document Requirements For Non-Thais Taking Domestic Flights
KhunBENQ replied to Mapguy's topic in Chiang Mai
Totally confusing post. The OP does not deal with Thai citizens at all. So what does the second paragraph have to do with Thai citizens? They show their Thai ID card (or passport) and that's it? It's worth mentioning that this has been discussed in a news thread already. Not sure why this has to be started again in a Chiang Mai thread? -
Is this new? Thai car allowed into Cambodia through Poipet.
KhunBENQ replied to Thailand J's topic in Cambodia General Chat
I watched the second English language video in full length. Very interesting contribution. But with all the paperwork and queuing I don't feel tempted. Driving into communist East Berlin in the 80s was a piece of cake compared and took less than an hour As much as you might be skeptical about EU/Europe but at least you can sit in your car and drive from Northern Cape to the Mediterranean sea with no hassle. I miss that here. Saving money for flight? Wouldn't it be an option to park car on the Thai side and use local transportation in Cambodia (if any)? -
Should I close my Thai bank accounts?
KhunBENQ replied to CartagenaWarlock's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Good to hear that Kasikorn is still foreigner friendly. I would not try my luck at GSB or Krungthai. Have no opinion about Krungsri. -
Should I close my Thai bank accounts?
KhunBENQ replied to CartagenaWarlock's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have accounts at three banks all online enabled. Sometimes I think about closing one. But as others wrote: no. I will spend the few hundred Baht a year and keep all. Distribute money between accounts. Almost impossible to run out of payment/cash options. I don't like the idea of using foreign card physically and feed to some ATM. Never rely on one piece of plastic from a foreign bank. -

Aircraft departing from Thailand's Utapao Airport crashed in Afghanistan
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Registration number RA-09011, Falcon 10B. Built in 1978 (46 years old)! Don't dream about 13000 km. Care for some conspiracy theories? 😁 Russian spy plane shot down by CIA funded islamists 🤣 -
Aircraft departing from Thailand's Utapao Airport crashed in Afghanistan
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Indeed all sources I see say 3500 km. Nowhere does the report say that it is a "Falcon 10 X". Just an "ordinary" Falcon 10. -
Absolutely wrong. The border pass limits the stay (3 nights?) and the regions that you can travel within Laos. But every Thai citizen can do a border hop/duty free trip etc.

A warning from NBTC of last year. Even the "Thailand" prefix "+66" is a scam. Nothing about +643 but the criminals may have found a new way.

There are ways to manipulate the callers origin. So not necessarily means anything. Could be as close as Cambodia. The scams are known and from time to time you find warnings from Thai officials. Not worth to report I think. Add the number to the blocklist on your phone. About all you can do and still expect that they have a multitude of caller IDs. I myself had caller IDs +698 in the display which are from well know call center gangs. I am more annoyed by unsolicited calls from Thai mobile numbers with some screeching recorded announcement (advertising).
