Saraphee Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 I cannot eat Halal due to the unnecessary suffering caused to the animals they choose to eat. I am surprised it's allowed by countries with observed animal cruelty regulations.
Sydebolle Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I am surprised that such an event can take place in Thailand. Try to imagine a "Non-Halal Fair" in the name of painless, human slaughtering of animals featuring pork and seafood products! 200 years ago all this might have made sense as no cooling/chilling or freezing facilities were available which accounts for this inhuman slaughtering method. Despite being on the opposite site of the religious scale between halal and kosher they had the same (health rooted) background - avoid fast decomposing/rotting of meats. The fidels were on the halal ticket, no pork and no booze. Pork meat rots fastest while alcohol in the middle eastern heat can have a devastating impact. Interesting enough though is, that the word "honeymoon" was crafted in Mesopotamian days. It was the honey wine to be served by the father of the bride to the groom after the wedding until the moon waned. Possible intention might have been to make sure that the groom is bonk"*ç%ng his newly wed wife to produce a (apparently preferrably male) offspring irrespective of the wife's looks, willingness or smell. The "chosen people" in the "promised land" were on the kosher ticket, i.e. also no pork, no seafood (except fish with fins and scales). Here it relates to the fast rotting of pork and seafood in uncontrolled climate conditions. 21st century has arrived and it's time to review the Torah and the Quran on these subjects. I personally believe, this event carries a encroaching background agenda to back-up the muslim society endeavours of the former Lanna kingdom; a slowly creeping encroachment of the infidel societies on this planet!
Ruffian Dick Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Goodness me. [emoji23]I'm wondering what "Unseen Lanna" means. Is there anything to see there? Maybe they turn out all the lights and hand out blindfolds? I really want to know...Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect

The more-or-less ancestral root of the same regional religious traditions which include circumcision and other disgusting practices. Two of the three Abrahamic religions that have devastated our world and killed untold tens of millions.

I am pleased to learn of your concern for these unfortunate animals - humane killing, I agree, is bad enough. Please tell m what you propose to do that will help?
