Baht Bus drivers asking for more than 10 baht

Featured Replies

It's 10 baht, not 20 !!!!!!

I take it all the time from Jomtien to Big C Marina North Pattaya. 10 baht. I repeat 10 baht. But if you hand over 20 and walk away thats your problem.

I always have a 10 baht coin in my pocket. I hand over the coin and walk away.

OK Balo for you I will now try paying 10 to Marina and North Pattaya road from Jomtien. My experience before with that was about 50 percent pushback. To me that indicates it was wise to just hand over 20 because that's a high rate of pushback. Will see.

What is your starting point in Jomtien ? Near the police station  is where I normally start from or VT1/VT2  .  I also have to add I do not take the baht bus as often as you in this direction  so it is more like twice a week .

From what I have read, on here 20 Baht appears to be the going rate

I think 10 Baht premium is well worth it, rather than walking all that way in the heat

ps. I am no lover of baht bus drivers although  "baht buses" are a brilliant concept....,...in moderation ?

i too think its a brilliant concept. i always pay 20bt per road

Seems foolish when the correct fare is 10 baht.

We were paying 20 baht back in the very early 90's from Jomtien back to Soi 2 area (ish)....never considered we were overpaying when short "chartered" trips used to be around 40 baht locally around town at the time. Still paying 20 baht today can hardly believe some are chipping it

The fare is 10 baht. When they officially raise it to 20 then the sensible people now paying 10 will pay 20.

I pay 10 baht . Just like any Thai .

But go ahead and feel good about yourself ,  pay more and show you are better than the rest of us.

I knew that before paying my 20 baht.
