Alleged drug boss arrested

By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Police have seized 100,000 methamphetamine pills from an alleged drug boss.

Metropolitan Police Bureau Commissioner Lt-General Sanit Mahathavorn told a press conference on Tuesday that the seizure of the meth pills and 23 grams of marijuana as well as Bt800,000 made the case against Kessaya Thepmorya, 30, stronger.

Sanit alleged that Kessaya coordinated with a group of hilltribe drug traffickers to smuggle drugs for distribution in Pathum Thani and other provinces.

She was arrested shortly after two suspects - Natchanon Pongsiriwat, 30, and Sukanya Narapui, 29 - were arrested in Prae on Saturday.

Natchanon was arrested first after police seized 190,000 meth pills from her and she implicated Sukanya, who police seized 86,000 meth pills from.

Sukanya then implicated Kessaya.

Kessaya denied the charges but police located her condominium in Pathum Thani’s Thanyaburi district and seized the drugs on Monday.
