SABloke
The worst thing about this story is that a trip on the island is 'allowed' to cost 500 Baht.
Muggi1968
When I see Thais receive fake money at the market they just say 'no' to accept. Even if the police is present they will not tell the police......
Thaiwrath
My suggestion to the taxi driver........................keep off the lao khao before going to work !
RichardColeman
I'm rather more inclined to believe that the driver is trying pulling a fast one on the company and pocketing the cash, since this type of idiocy seems more Thai hair-brained than tourist ! lupin
Seriously, if dumb enough to accept that, then you should be put in an office corner somewhere and watered twice a week.
Argus Tuft
Kind of feel for the taxi driver here - who knows if it was dark or hard to see, might have been a long day. Bit harsh to accuse him of being drunk on lao khao Edited September 20, 2017 by Argus Tuft

snoop1130
Would you fall for this badly faked Thai banknote? One taxi driver did By Coconuts Bangkok Photos: The Phuket News A Phuket taxi driver manager posted a warning for people to beware of fake banknotes after a tourist got away with paying with a THB50 (USD1.50) banknote washed with a purple tint and with extra zeros literally glued on it to present it as a THB500 (USD15) note. However, even in black-and-white, the design of the bill should be obvious to anyone who regularly uses Thai cash. A taxi company manager, who did not want to be named, posted photos of the note on Facebook Tuesday, saying “Staff at my office showed me this. The money was from a taxi driver who was handed this from a tourist on Monday night. We are not sure if it was the tourist created this banknote or if someone else handed it to (him/her) without realizing it.” Full Story: https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/fall-badly-faked-thai-banknote-one-taxi-driver-photos/ -- © Copyright Coconuts Bangkok 2017-9-

timendres
One problem is that the front of every note looks almost identical. You really need to look at the back, and then it is clear which note you are holding (aside from the numbers, that is). In a dark taxi, in a hurry, easy to make mistakes.
