Toyota vios G 2014 - Top + Insurance Question

Just about to do a cash + exchange deal with the car dealer who sold us my Mrs first car 18 months ago.

1st car 2009 toyota vios J.  Purchase price 260k.

Valuation on that motor as part of exchange. 200k. - was pleased with that to be honest.

Car we have agreed to buy is a 2014 toyota vios G. His book price was 529,650.

My Mrs managed to get him to 475k so cash outlay 275k + old motor.

(I've had the Mrs tell me the story of her negotiation tactic 7 times since yesterday. Piiissing myself)

Spec:

Leather throughout

65k odo

Very nice pioneer CD player

Immaculate condition. Former business car for a tv company.

Any thoughts on the price.  I've checked dooroot and kaidee and it seems fair. Maybe 10k over priced but I have confidence in the dealer and his whole inventory of 40 cars is very similar in condition and like the first car purchase, I'm comfortable buying from him.

Ok so regards insurance.

Pretty sure my Mrs has been ripped on this.

16k insurance. Same cost as previous year. This insurance has 9 months left the car dealer apparently said she could cancel and get some cash back?

Sounds to good to be true?

Reason I think she got ripped is she also thinks she has some insurance against death on rd where her survivors will get 10M baht.

I think that's some tactic to make her spend the same amount as previous year. Any thoughts and experience most welcome.

1. Insurance can be redeemed.

2. You can see the level of cover offered from  Gluay Gluay Insurance click Here.

Very simple tactic. I tell her to explain she is merely the translator. In doing so he then pretended to call someone about the price 3 times but he owns a massive house on the same plot, it was his tactic he needed no one to make the decision really. I did tell this guy when we purchased 1st car we wanted the best price on the last one and providing there were no issues we would be back for another. Mrs was quick to remind him about that.

I also spent 1.5 hours looking at the car + 2 previous short visits on my own to wet his appetite.

I stayed 20 metres away from them and she would dash back and forth.

She asked 1 simple question. Is that the Best price really? He smiled and never answered 3 times and those three smiles brought the price down 3 times.

So any thoughts on the price you think it's a fair price?

List price I believe for that exact car was 789k in 2014. Given our current 2009 one has only depreciated 60k in 18 months it seems a good price.

475k is overpriced, but is to be expected from a dealer. The prices for a 2014 vios are between 329k and 438k as shown HERE.

Does it have ABS and service history?

When was it built? Sometimes the car can be a 2013 model that was registered in 2014. You can use a VIN decoder to see the build date.

@stubuzz

Decent site Taladrod but most motors are in bkk and from my location and needs it's not feasible.

I don't mind paying a bit extra to my regular guy. He provides 6 months or 6000ķm warranty and we brought our last car from him and it served us very well so if this motor gives us 2.5-3 years of hassle free transport I dare say we will buy from him again.

Does have ABS too and we worked very hard to find a seller we were comfortable with and I put a value on that too.

Viriyah. I have been with them since I purchased the car new four years ago. I always ignore the renewal invoice they send me, and negotiate with the Viriyah rep who works at the Toyota dealership. I always get a better price. I don't think I have breakdown cover included.
