Chiang Mai is Preparing for the Royal Cremation

CityNews – Local authorities are preparing the Daffodils for the late HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej Ceremony on October 26th at the International Exhibition and Convention Centre, pressing the construction of a replica of the funeral pyre.

 

According to the report on September 25th, the funeral pyre replica has been done up to about 60% since the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning starts working on the project on August 26th, and is expected to be completed by October 10th. Prior that day, there will be a blessing ceremony on October 4th at 9.49am, the International Exhibition and Convention Centre, for both public and private sectors. Citizens who wish to attend must wear polite white-shaded outfits with a mourning bow.

 

The Daffodils for the late HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej Ceremony on October 26th which will be aligned with the royal cremation in Bangkok, is reportedly expected over 100,000 participants. To provide the accessibility and avoid heavy traffic as much as possible, Chiang Mai police has collaborated with private sectors providing free pick-up spots around town by trams and songtaews, following:
