If Middle Eastern or illegal alien, our POTUS will be all over this like stink on sht.  If just a random white guy, he probably won't care.  May even insists that "if concert goers all had guns, this wouldn't have happened!"

If (as appears to be true) a white guy, Trump will say" both sides share the blame."

Here is the latest news: 50+ dead, 200+ in hospitals, shooter probably had a AK47 on automatic with multiple clips and other weapons in the Mandalay Bay Resort on 32nd floor. Broke out fixed window to start shooting. Name is not Muslim sounding. SWAT blew a hole in the Hotel door and shot the terrorist dead. He had a gf from Asia who is on the lam at present. The shooter obviously  had training in using the weapon of choice, possibly ex-military. He was a L.V. resident and warrant being issued to search both the Mandalay room and his private residence. They found him quickly on the 32nd floor which indicates to me that the other guests called hotel security about all of the noise since the shooting went on for 20-30 mins. All L.V. casinos on The Strip were locked down due to this. About 30,000 people were attending this concert so like shooting fish in a pond. Random killing field. Too bad and this cannot be protected against such soft target. The 32nd floor of Mandalay was booked for weeks in advance making this a planned event.

This story had nothing to do with Arabs or Muslim's so why do you insist on bringing them into the conversation?

Maybe...just MAYBE...because they are usually the culprits? Just taking a freakin wild guess here...

Mass shootings in the USA usually made by Arabs or Muslims?  Wild guess or just a stupid comment.  I'll take the latter

Incorrect. White shooters have killedfar more in America than other nationalities. But again.. The story is about a guy shooting up Vegas not anything else. Anything else posted is someone's agenda and not relevant

Apparently the female worked at the Mandalay and had a room there.  Even if she didn't have a room then she would have had access.   He lived an hour out of LV.

The left will shortly be telling us that he is a Nazi white-supremacist and that white people commit more terror attacks than Arabs/Muslims.

So, the left will shortly be telling us...

And what will the right be telling us ? He was a black muslim. Ha ?

The U S has no one else to blame but itself. Your president is a racist, a supporter of white supremacists, and an Islamophobe. You have laws that allow widespread carrying of weapons. Your police regards human life as expendable. I have just listened to an ex FBI agent describe the concert crowd as Biomass! How much more insulting could your authorities be than this of human life!

I am sad for the individuals who have lost their lives and their families.

I feel nothing for the USA.

Last time I stayed in Vegas security was pretty tight at casino and hotel.. May have used her to get guns in

What a pity to read your last sentence. But can agree to the rest of it.

Maybe if the USA had proper gun control then this and the almost daily similar attacks would not have happened?

If this had happened in any first world country other than the USA, then you would be right. But in the USA, you are wrong.

If police shot him after 3 minutes (which is pretty amazing), how on earth did he manage to kill and injure so many people??

3 minutes is an eternity with a semi or auto weapon

Watch the video. Several hundred bullets in a very short time.

I don't know his motivations, but it is true that more people are killed or injured in the USA in mass shootings (any shooting where 4 or more people were killed or injured, excluding the perpetrator) than by Islamist terrorists.

25 such incidents since the 6th September 2017 alone! (source) Fortunately, most of them were nowhere near the scale of this attack.

In most years, more people in the USA are killed by toddlers than by terrorists. Deport them back to Toddlerland!

I doubt very much it was only 3 minutes...for the police to locate the source of fire, reach the hotel, and secure the perimeter  (several floors both above and below the 32nd floor were cleared) must have taken 20-30 minutes before they blew open the door to the shooter's room and took him out.

Shooter was from Mesquite. Just before the Utah border as headed north. No criminal record.

From MSN

"The suspect in the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history has been identified as Stephen Paddock, authorities said.

Paddock, 64, is from Mesquite, Nev., about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas and had been known to local law enforcement."

If he was known by the police he had a cock up somewhere.

Let me go on record early in stating categorically that the USA's unenviable record in mass shootings has nothing, and i mean absolutely nothing to do with ease of access to high powered weapons for anyone and everyone.

I can 100 % guarantee it will not be a Muslim, and if it is, it will be a radicalized one that has nothing to do with Islam. Hope I am wrong.

???  The news is out.  A 64 yr old white guy with no prior criminal record.  In other words, impossible to prevent.  Unless you do something about automatic weapons...which won't happen in the current climate and a GOP Congress and Prez.  Which means someone else will break the record for worst mass shooting ever...and right soon.

To own fully automatic weapons - legally - in the U.S., you HAVE to have a Federal Gun Permit, and those are damn near impossible to get, unless you are an authorized gun dealer.  The average Joe?  Not a chance.   But illegal guns are out there for those who really want one.

Another sad, senseless tragedy.  There's just no reason for private citizens to be allowed to own weapons capable of killing 50 people and wounding over 200.  Utter madness.  As in past cases, the politicians will wring their hands, maybe cry a few crocodile tears, get on their soapboxes and point fingers, and, as in past cases, nothing whatsoever will be done.   Poor America.  Just bicker, bicker, bicker about everything.   Even ridiculous bickering over a donation of books by the First Lady.  Sad.
