webfact Posted October 9, 2017 Share Posted October 9, 2017 Motorcyclist killed crashing into parked truck By The Nation A motorcyclist was killed when his machine crashed into the rear of a six-wheel truck parked on a roadside in Pathum Thani after the driver felt sleepy. Police said the accident happened at 2am on Chiang Rak-Bang Khan road in Tambon Klong Nueng of Pathum Thani’s Klong Luang district. The motorcyclist was identified as Dolchai Pongwattana, 22. Truck driver Panya Harnna, 36, said he was returning home after delivering goods when he felt sleepy. He parked at the side of the road to get some sleep and was awoken by the sound of the crash. And lights or not, if you are going at a sensible speed a six-wheel truck ought to be big enough to spot and avoid. You see it all the time in Thailand. with respects if it was so bleeding dark and it was like playing pin the tail on the donkey, why were they going fast enough to kill themselves ! rather than thinking hey its dark, let's go a little slower just in case, it seems they thought vrooom 60km+ splat. Kiwiken Posted October 9, 2017 Share Posted October 9, 2017 It is not just in Thailand that this happens and even in a modern Car with good lights let alone and motorcycle Trucks parked on the side of the road can be difficult to spot.
