rooster59
BMA ‘wish to please PM to blame for flood woes’ By The Nation A former deputy Bangkok governor lashed out at the city administration for trying to please the prime minister by implementing his floating market policy and neglecting the draining of the capital’s canals. Teerachon Manomaiphibui posted on his Facebook wall that from his experience as a deputy governor, he would urge the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to drain all canals in preparation for heavy rains. “The BMA should not be worried about the floating market policy of the prime minister,” Teerachon said. “The BMA should explain to the prime minister about the management of flood prevention in Bangkok during the monsoon season. If all canals are kept brimming in line with the floating market policy, flooding will occur immediately,” Teerachon posted. “All water pumping systems must be turned on at full capacity to drain water. The BMA should not try to please the prime minister without explaining the truth to him.” Source: http://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/breakingnews/30329268 -- © Copyright The Nation 2017-10-

scotchbroth100
I am guessing that with those words of criticism the former deputy governor will soon find himself “invited” by the army to receive his “re-education”.

Except that the NACC won't be bringing charges of dereliction of duty charges against this government any time soon. They have after all declared they are immune from all responsibility for their actions and are therefore irresponsible. wakeupplease
My god its garbage on the breaches and the roads these day, not a problem tourists like it, says a man in Pat. Bit like saving up all year for a holiday and landing in the local garbage dump, nice.

Does Prayuth understand, I wonder, that if he runs a bath, with the plug left in and both taps on at full, some of his house will suffer? Just as well that he leaves this tricky stuff to the Misses. Ossy
A basic understanding of fluid dynamics would help the PM. Had his mother not got him used to feeding at the 'top end', the likely result is unthinkable.

I am quite sure the PM understands that canals should be drained before the storms. Seems like too many minions are afraid to do their job. 'They have after all declared they are immune from all responsibility for their actions and are therefore irresponsible.' Or, in the case of some members of the government, unresponsive.
