I have to run a new Ethernet LAN cable through the ceiling, at the same time,

i have to extend  bell to the rear of the house, could i run them through the same

yellow pipe,or would the electric cable cause any interference to the LAN cable ?,

thought it best to ask before doing it, thanks.

No, do not run them in the same tube, it contravenes pretty well every set of IT and power regulations on the planet.

And yes, there is a strong possibility of interference.

Run them in separate tubes as far apart as possible, 100mm at least.

EDIT is the bell cable 12V or 220V? If it's 12V then there should be no issue, most Thai doorbells seem to be 220V

Do you mean some sort of low voltage DC door bell ? That could go in the same conduit as the cat 5.

never run a power cable next to a signal cable, signal interference is guaranteed...that being said, I wonder how they keep the two segregated in the tangled spaghetti that usually hangs from local neighborhood LV power distribution arrangements?

If it's just a signaling (low voltage) doorbell button, you can even be stingy and use the blue or brown pair in the CAT5 cable...

Not so much anymore because Gigabit ethernet uses all 8 wires.

Its a 220v wire for the doorbell, I had a feeling it would cause problems,

just it would have been easier,so will keep them as far apart as possible,

thanks for the replies,I need to put the Ethernet cables in the yellow pipes

as rats seem to like the taste of them, they come in the roof every rainy

season for shelter, have a cat now ,and she likes bringing live rats in the

house for us to see.
