Xiaomi Display Replacement

Has anybody had a display replaced for a Xiaomi Redmi Note-4 in Bangkok?

If yes, Where please and the cost?

The glass is cracked but the matrix below seems intact.  Is it possible to replace the glass without damaging the matrix?

There are some shops who can do it at MBK but be prepared to pay at least 2000baht.

I doubt anybody in MBK would have spare screens for Redmi Note 4 would they? This is the problem with the Xiaomi phones if the screen goes your knackered, Iv had to throw a few phones away becuase of this problem.

the glass is part of a sandwich consisting of two glass  part assembly . The video image is display glass is below

the touch control; glass. If the video image is good you need only replace the touch control glass. The Touch control

glass is removed from the video display glass with a sharp knife. You must be careful not to cut the paper thin wire

tape connectors attached to the main board... If you can remove the touch control glass you may get a replacement

searching inside AliExpress.com suppliers... I have replaced touch control glass on my 7 inch GPS and Sam sung

phone after deciding what else can i do with broken items that nobody offering repair parts inside Thailand..

 

P.S. searching for solutions found a majority of dealers and repair shops buy direct from China using AlliExpress.com

or Alibaba.com since everything is assembled and made in China

Just curious did you have a screen protector..?

I doubt there would be any stores with spare screens. I couldn't even find a glass screen protector locally and went through Ali express. You may want to try them on the off chance they stock screens

Thanks for the suggestions.  Having twice before subjected myself to the frustration of trying to repair a disabled phone (never successfully) I think I will simply get a hard screen protector from AliExp. and live with the crack as long as it does not effect the phones functions as it has not yet done.

I did not have a screen protector installed when it dropped but I doubt one would have prevented the crack as in this case, it landed right on the inside corner, the point where my protective back case met the phone.

Anyway, now I have an excuse to buy a new one when the next big improvement arrives.

Had this conversation before, do you know if they specifically repair Xiaomi phones?
