Following a complaint to the Malaysian Embassy a large party of police led by special branch chief Surachet Hakpan raided premises in Samut Prakarn yesterday.

In a tenth floor room at Garden Tower in Bang Plee they found a Malaysian woman called Khoo Wen Ching who had been assaulted and imprisoned.

There were also four other Malaysian men and a woman in the property.

They told investigators that they had entered Thailand in August after being offered work by a Taiwanese man. They were tricked into doing illegal activity running a call center, they said.

If they didn't comply they would be beaten and locked up as punishment.

Police took a large amount of computers, printers, telephones and other equipment into evidence.

They arrested Taiwanese national Jao Feuay Long on charges of imprisoning people, assault, illegal working and human trafficking.

The police are hunting for others in the gang.
