First look at ‘A Prayer Before Dawn’ film based on true story of Brit in Thai prison

The first official trailer for A Prayer Before Dawn, an upcoming release about a troubled young Brit in a Thai prison, made its debut last night.

 

The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May and has received several seriously positive reviews (check out this fairly rapturous one at Variety.com), but we’d be lying if we didn’t admit to feel a bit of cringe at yet another movie about Thailand featuring exotic shots of Muay Thai, bikini-clad bar girls, and Thai prison. Points for no elephant in the trailer though.

 

Based on the 2014 best seller of the same name, A Prayer Before Dawn is based on the true story of Billy Moore, a young British boxer who landed himself in Chiang Mai Central Prison and later at the “Bangkok Hilton,” aka Klong Prem Central Prison.

You may be lucky to see it in Thailand. I watch BBC news and they have been covering the King's funeral but many overseas news broadcasts have been stopped, at least partially until the particular item is over. One instance this week was an interview with an overseas follower of Thailand and its politics about what he saw for the future of Thailand and the entire interview was blocked out.

Cheap hooker, cheap beer and Nigerians get you smacked up for a fraction of the price.
What could possibly go wrong? Hopefully he gets at least a a cut from this movie
