Bus or Car to Hua Hin

Featured Replies

I am coming to Hua Hin next week for 2 days. Can't decide whether to drive, from Pattaya, or take the bus. The bus is slightly cheaper (than gas) and certainly much easier.  But will i need a car in Hua Hin?  Is there any need for a car there or is it OK to get around using public transport.

I drive from Pattaya. Takes me around 4 hours in the car, plus I usually stop for a nice meal in Bangkok on the way.

I would definitely want to have my car there as most places of interest to me are outside of town or at least outside of the town centre. It does rather depend on where you will be staying and where you want to go. I like to stay outside of the centre.

You could also consider the new ferry if you decide not to take your car. A friend of mine took it and found it quite enjoyable.
