why not just do a GOOGLE search and see what comes up??

Yes I will do that soon, but was searching for some local knowledge and so far many of the posts have been most helpful........my thanks to those who have taken the time to post thus far.

Perhaps time to close this particular thread, as I have gotten a lot of information from the people who have been kind enough to post, as well as exploring Google, as was another suggestion.

So a big thank you to all who took the time and effort to provide me with some information, your efforts are much appreciated.

Just in case it's raining you can go to Art in Paradise, a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours or so and get some crazy pics - check it out on Google  There is also a place out on route 36 that is an indoor ice place, Frost Magical Ice of Siam, also a traditional Ice rink in Pattaya if that's your bag

If you like a bit of fighting go to Max Muay Thai on a Sunday where there is usually farangs vs Thai which is fun to watch. There are lots of other sports and activities that can be done. One area to look is soi 9 up  Threpasit down beside Jomtien where there is an area with all sorts of activities including bungy jumping,  go-kart racing and other things. A really cool area to spend some time as others have said is Pratamnak hill where there are two hills one with beautiful Buddhist images and wats and the other side which has amazing views and great coffee all surrounded by great gardens and parks. I recommend this as a great way to relax before the mad party at night. all the best

Btw this place has excellent reviews on trip advisor and the elephants are treated with the greatest love and respect.

http://www.elephant-village-pattaya.com/

excellent 4/5 stars in the google reviews.

I 100% agree with this as I have been to the village and the people do care for these animals like they are family. The elephants here are old so they are being used to teach and inform about traditional Thai elephants but is also a sanctuary to care for the beautiful intelligent creatures

Another tip that may not be the tourist kind. I would go and see the Siam Siam hotel infinity pool on the top floor and buy a cocktail at about 6 o'clock as there is a happy hour. The views are breathtaking and the place is super cool but a little pricey but a great place to take a date.

Highly recommend a trip to Nong Nooch Garden.  Don't take the 1/2 day group tour.  By the time they pick you up in a mini van, round everybody up for the big tour bus, you don't get much time.  You want to see the cultural show, the elephant show, and have lots of time to wander around

The chinese pavillion/exhibit at the top of the Big Buddha hill, just below the big buddha and to the left as you face the big buddha.  Very peaceful.  One of the gems of the city in my opinion.

And Mini Siam up across Sukhumvit road a little bit North of Pattaya Klang.  Good for two hour or so walk around.  Not spectacular but has some greenery and the displays and models of things from around the world are of some interest.

We had a good time at the go kart track a few years ago.  Loud, noisy, and nothing to do with Thailand, but can be fun with the guys for a few hours.

Chill out at night and get hammered and shoot some pool.  Several decent places around the center of town.  The girls rack the balls, you can order food.  Used to enjoy Tim's Bar Beer a lot.  Had a gogo with the pool room.

Why go cattle class to the island?  Very easy to charter a great speed boat and have a wonderful day.  The rest of your itinerary seems very boring.....I mean Pratumnak hill, a lake that is not even a lake????C'mon! There are also way more interesting activities than you suggest.  What about elephant rides?

How much is the speedboat for a day?

I think we have found a very, very strong candidate for dumbest, most uninformed post of the year.  Certainly has my vote!  Seriously, you really need to get out more.

Used to be 1500 -1800 baht. Go to the east side of Ko Larn.  Make sure the driver lets you pick your beach.  I have also taken the ferry once, just to check it out.  The boat ride is fine, but either we misunderstood or they made us go to a very crowded beach.   take the boat.  Every little beach has a way to order some food, fried rice with shrimp or whatever, have some drinks.
