What is true health?

 

 

 

If you are the typical person, you might define HEALTH as the absence of pain or sickness. 

 

This is what most people think. But, in fact, the real definition of TRUE HEALTH, as defined by the WHO (World Health Organization), is when all physical, mental, and emotional aspects of a person are working together at full capacity and in complete harmony. 

 

This means that most of us are not in TRUE optimum health. So what can we do to help. Well, studies have shown that good sleep is one of the foundations of good health and significantly affects longevity. 

 

So first start with improving the quantity and quality of your sleep. Several hours of deep sleep are essential to repair cellular damage suffered during your waking hours. 

 

This can be achieved by having a more regular life schedule where you go to sleep at a regular time. 

 

Also, not eating big meals at night and reducing caffeine intake could help, as well as regular low impact exercises like walking and swimming.

 

Underpinning all of this is having a properly functioning nerve system, since nerves control and coordinate virtually all of your body’s functions. A comfortable and effective way to do this is having your spine biomechanics checked by a Doctor of Chiropractic. 

 

Spinal irritation, which may not be symptomatic, can still affect your body’s function. You see, only about 10% of your nerves deal with symptoms like pain.
