webfact Posted November 15, 2017 Share Posted November 15, 2017 Crackdown ordered on Bangkok bag-snatchers By The Nation Pol Lt Gen Charnthep Sesawej With incidents of bag-snatching on the rise in Bangkok, acting Metropolitan Police Chief Pol Lt Gen Charnthep Sesawej on Wednesday ordered a crackdown in all nine divisions. Charnthep told division commanders in a meeting that thieves were grabbing handbags more frequently lately and residents were demanding action. He noted that quick arrests are rendered difficult because police stations do not effectively share information about bag-snatching suspects. That has to improve, he said. Perhaps if a crackdown on cops not doing basic police work happened, those crimes levels would take care of themselves, To dream the impossible dream...
