Drug suspect shot dead in Lamphun

By The Nation

A drug suspect was shot dead in Lamphun late Wednesday night while allegedly resisting arrest, police said.

Police said Thanom Inkong-ngam, 36, was killed in Tambon Maeraeng's Ban Kongngam village, Pasang district. at about 10.30pm.

Police said they were about to arrest Thanom as he was delivering drugs to an undercover policeman in a sting operation but he opened fire at officers. Police returned fire and hit him in the chest, killing him at the scene.

Police said they found a homemade sawed-off shotgun in Thanom's hand, which had been fired once.

They also found 200 methamphetamine pills on the suspect.

Pol Lt-Colonel Witthaya Winyayong, deputy inspector of Pasang police station, said Thanom had been arrested twice on drug charges and recently been released from jail.

Good job, when I was a boy long ago, most murderers got shot while escaping.

Was it perfect? No but better than the current situation.
