PHUKET: -- The immigration police chief yesterday called on the public to keep an eye out for suspected foreign criminals masquerading as tourists.

Pol Lt-Gen Charnwut Watcharapuk said public help was crucial as visa relaxations allowed people from 30 countries to enter without a visa.

The commissioner said many of these foreign criminals used Thailand as a hideout or to plan further crimes.

George, invite Khun Charnwut to sign up with Thai Visa. He could learn than that's 40 and not 30 countries :o

How do I tell suspected foreign criminals from the rest of the tourists??

Surely that is a job for the police, or immigration.

Mind you with the downturn in business the criminals may be the only ones left!!

Anyway, if the commissioner is so sure about all this, why doesn't he arrest all the criminals?

I am sure he has nothing else to do?
