My computer holds information from Prayuth promising elections by at least 5 previous dates.  Would someone please charge him for distributing false information, totally wrecking any chance the country had of any reasonable reputation and his contribution for lowering the medium intelligence level of the human race. That is, if he qualifies.

No. You are the guilty one for keeping his, ummmmmm, misinformation on your computer. That could hurt him. ?

Having porn is illegal but visiting the porn industry in thailand is not. Massage. Bar girls/whores. Street girls. So bangla patong and pat pong and soi cowboy and nana plaza bangkok or even half of pattaya will be closed down with immediate affect yes or no.

Despite of visas, these places are full enough. So, the idea is to make you come out of your room and go entertain with them.

They're really turning the screw now. These crazy ideas never lead to anywhere good.

With other words - Do NOT bring your camera nor your phone to Thailand....:1zgarz5:

Follow The precautionary principle by keeping your eyes CLOSED during your stay in Thailand as the next thing might be that your short-term memory will be scanned on departure...;)

Another question is--Who decides what's pornographic and who decides what's false information? If the bible thumpers in Alabama decided what porno was, photos of women in the United States would have them in Victorian dresses and sun bonnets like "The Handmaid's Tale." If Trump decided what was fake news, it would be everything except what came out of his mouth. In Thailand? total chaos if they try to enforce this.

I don't see where there is a problem unless you use the information against another person.

I don't see anything in the law, or new preventing possession for personal use!

I see a lot of soft ware being sold 1

The revisions to the Computer Act gave the court the authority to order such data destroyed and specified that possession alone .. [is] a crime. Previously the court could only rule that posting such data online was a crime.

The grip tightens.

They know it when they see it. ?

What if you have a video of yourself and a girlfriend getting down and dirty? I mean, what's the harm in videoing yourselves in the throws of sexual ecstasy? Would they classify that as pornographic content lol? I would consider it a home video :P

Depends on content.  Post your videos for opinions.

"It covers false information, including any deemed likely to damage national or economic security or the public at large, information constituting a crime under the Penal Code, and information of a “vulgar” character."

Everything I see on TV, especially when spoken by Prayut, fits the description above........

As long as your porn content is on a DVD and not the computer, you’ll be fine.

Horrible, horrible how Thailand is turning into a 'mini'North Korea'

Possible you mean South Korea--- most people on here don't even bother to Google who has what laws -

South Korea --Yes not North--Anyone caught leaving anonymous comments on a blog with more than 100,000 readers will see a five-year prison term. If that’s not enough, you can receive a maximum of three years for libel, even if you can prove a statement is true.

Horrible, horrible how Thailand is turning into a 'mini'North Korea' and as every day goes by they believe their own 'righteousness' more and more and their delusions that they are the 'Saviours of Thailand' is very, very dangerous.

Laws have changed, but I do not see any real changes to everyday life  - except a worse economy.

Thais are very patient and accepting to all stuff that does not affect them personally and hurt their wallet.

I am personally not worried about e.g. strange smoking or computer laws. There has always been strange laws and coruption here.

The bad economy is what is going to at some point create a real counter reaction. That scares me more than anything.

Does keeping pictures of Yingluk count as porn ? :omfg:

Actually .........what a load of hysterical twaddle. Take a walk any day  through klong thom market. More porn cds than you can shake something rhyming with a stick at.

maybe DVDs don't count, the bigwigs have to have a legal way to watch

Prostitution is illegal in Thailand too, but who gives a f***?

Exactly!!! And that is also why this computer law will be out of people’s minds in less than 24 hours...

Nobody here cares about these Ting-Tong “We can all go to Jail”-laws. Thats also why they have no effect at all.
