November 24, 20178 yr Would that include politicians, I wonder? Watching porn on their phones whilst supposedly addressing government business. And I would have thought doctoring the images of certain politicians would enhance their image.
November 24, 20178 yr What next, all citizens to have the same haircuts and be in bed by 9.30 PM? They had better start building a lot of prisons.
November 24, 20178 yr i see porn everyday and twice on a sunday. there's pornpimon, pornthip, tanaporn, siriporn, somporn, chuleeporn, kamalaporn... thailand is full of porn
November 24, 20178 yr 1 hour ago, helloagain said: Having porn is illegal but visiting the porn industry in thailand is not. Massage. Bar girls/whores. Street girls. So bangla patong and pat pong and soi cowboy and nana plaza bangkok or even half of pattaya will be closed down with immediate affect yes or no. Despite of visas, these places are full enough. So, the idea is to make you come out of your room and go entertain with them. Economic plan Ver. 5.0.

With other words - Do NOT bring your camera nor your phone to Thailand.... Follow The precautionary principle by keeping your eyes CLOSED during your stay in Thailand as the next thing might be that your short-term memory will be scanned on departure...;)

November 24, 20178 yr Another question is--Who decides what's pornographic and who decides what's false information? If the bible thumpers in Alabama decided what porno was, photos of women in the United States would have them in Victorian dresses and sun bonnets like "The Handmaid's Tale." If Trump decided what was fake news, it would be everything except what came out of his mouth. In Thailand? total chaos if they try to enforce this.
November 24, 20178 yr I don't see where there is a problem unless you use the information against another person. I don't see anything in the law, or new preventing possession for personal use! I see a lot of soft ware being sold 1

November 24, 20178 yr "It covers false information, including any deemed likely to damage national or economic security or the public at large, information constituting a crime under the Penal Code, and information of a “vulgar” character." November 24, 20178 yr Horrible, horrible how Thailand is turning into a 'mini'North Korea' and as every day goes by they believe their own 'righteousness' more and more and their delusions that they are the 'Saviours of Thailand' is very, very dangerous.
November 24, 20178 yr I guess the days of having a fag and a beer on the beach whist watching porn are behind me then. Just have to get used to having a coke whilst standing in a sea of turds playing candy crush !

If that’s not enough, you can receive a maximum of three years for libel, even if you can prove a statement is true.

Laws have changed, but I do not see any real changes to everyday life - except a worse economy. Thais are very patient and accepting to all stuff that does not affect them personally and hurt their wallet. I am personally not worried about e.g. strange smoking or computer laws. There has always been strange laws and coruption here. The bad economy is what is going to at some point create a real counter reaction. That scares me more than anything.
