Police Check for non Thai citizen

Great day!!

 

HI, everybody so I applied for a tourist visa 600 to Australia  online. One of the requirements that I need to attach is a Police check/clearance,Im a filipino but Ive been working here in Thailand for 5years. Some of my friends who applied online wasn't required to get a police check,I was not required on my previous applications too. 

 

Also in order for me to get a Police clearance/cert I need a letter from the Embassy of Australia stating that I need a get a Police cert,but this online application Im doing is just the part where you attache required documents,and no letter stating that  I need to get a Police clearance/cert its just that one of the tabs is asking for a Police cert.

 

 

question:

1.Do I really need to get a Police clearance even though no formal letter from the Embassy?

2. Wil it  be an issue if im not gonna  attach a Police cert. on pre application?

3. Can I just go to the Police Headquarters in BKK, whithout a letter from the embassy?and get a police cert?

You can obtain a Thai Police clearance certificate from Special Branch for 100 baht - info below. The Embassy letter insures no requests for additional costs.

OH,sweet! so even though no letter from the Embassy I can still go there and get the clearance as long as I have all the required documents such as passport,workpermit etc.?

Aw, that all I need to hear!Thanks!! Also uhm as  I checked it take like 30 days for them to process the thing? not 7days?

Do I need to have my documents(passport,workpemit etc.) certified even though Im gonna go there personally?

I just went to request the  clearance a few days ago.

 

The requirements online state that

A letter is necessary from Embassy.

Not true, I had my own letter stating why I needed it (overseas work visa) and that i had worked in Thailand several years before. This was accepted without any problem.

Certified copies required.

Depends what you mean by certified. If posting then I would expect legalisation.

I did not need legally certified copies.

I took the originals with me and they can see the copies are ok. I signed the copies Maybe that's what they mean.

 

Be aware that 30 days is 30 working days and that's what they will give you as the pickup date.

That's after the new year.

Because I need the clearance for a overseas work visa  in a few weeks this was not going to help.

 

I asked if there was an express service.

The lady said that this could be done but would cost extra. But would not be able to give a receipt.

I asked how much and it was higher than I had expected.

Maybe the lady realized it needed a good fee because I have stated that it is for a work visa.

I need to get this in time so I paid. = 2500 baht.

No qualms about this, and it is good that I could actually accelerate to get this within 3 weeks at latest.

Otherwise I could have a big problem going to a new job.

Thanks,man such a big help!dyu have like a draft of the letter?if its ok for you to share?gizzz  I thought it would take only 7days for me to receive the certificate? I need it like before end of the month since its the only thing missing for my visa application..But thank you for the info!helps a lot!

I also had copies of my previous passports to show many earlier visas, etc staying a lot in Thailand.

 

The lady offered about 10 days for the express service .

In reference to my application for Police Clearance check, I am currently in Thailand after working in xxxx and preparing to go to a new job in XXXX.

I understand that the XXXX Embassy will require police clearance for VISA processing. Grateful if you can assist.

 

I confirm that I have been living and visiting Thailand regularly since year XXXX.

I have worked in Thailand with work permit before.

from xxxx to xxxx,

from xxxx to xxxx

Since then I have been working overseas in xxxx, xxxx, and xxxx but return regularly.

I was also resident in Thailand in year xxxx whilst resting between jobs in xxxx.

 

Currently I have a retirement visa extension valid until xx December 2017.
