Interesting that the db killer didn't make much difference. My 899 (Termignoni pipes) was ridiculously loud without the DB killer in there, I mean totally offensive - it would set off security alarms as I drove past parked cars. I put the DB killers in after a couple of days and it made loads of difference, still loud enough to let people know you are there (and sounds awesome over 6k rpm with the throttle WFO) but not so loud that you wake up the entire neighbourhood when you set off early.

I was surprised that the noise wasn't vastly increased so they being left out. Like the blue flames.

About 8 years ago I had a Street Triple R in Singapore with aftermarket Zard cans. It is extremely strict in Singapore regarding vehicle mods. The Zards had to be registered and inspected prior to a certificate being issued.

Anyway, one the DB killers fell out a long the way so I took the other out to make a pattern copy for the now missing can. 

It sounded so nice that I decided not to put them back in.

Then I was pulled up by an LTA officer (basically looks like a cop on a cop bike but there only job is to regulate modified vehicles and act accordingly).

He took me directly to a test centre and made a report. Fine was $500 which is about B12000. Given 6 days to rectify it and appear for reinspection.

Ouch.

 

Will be going to the Thai Motogp on the 939. Just purchased 5 x tickets in the Ducati stand for a super bargain price of B2700 each.

Not all things Ducati are expensive.

(there are 3 cables to wire in the Camera unit - 1 to the negative, the Live into the fuse and 1 directly to the live battery terminal)

 

I'm not certain, but suspect that if there is any 'over ride' it may result in corrupt files when turning off the ignition and now powering down the camera unit properly. 

Well found the bike battery dead yesterday, ordered one of these up, still not happy to find the battery drained though.....Grrrr!!!

This thing worked perfectly, about 5 hours from dead to fully charged......even has an internal cooling fan...NICE!

Fitted R&G rear hugger on the XSR900. Don't understand the original rear fender is so short, see that on many new bikes now? Original one is basically useless. Both made of plastic so not any weight increase worth mention.

Looks like an end part of the cam assembly.

Last trip from Blighty i bought some nice bar end mirrors, and genuine and pattern copy Biltwell h/bar grips for my street bikes and my lad's KSR.

When fitting h/bar grips with bar end weights or mirrors, you need to open the closed end.

First pair i did with a Stanley knife.

They worked, but the hole was naff.

Although once fitted nobody could see it, i knew it was there.

So i looked on the net, and lo and behold there is a tool for it (just like there is a tool for everything).

A threaded drift with two mandrels, 1" and 7/8", for throttle side and L/H side, that screw onto said drift.

One hit with a hammer and hey presto - neat round hole in the end.

Prices range from $17 -$20ish. Not bad, but postage to here was $39 and i aint paying that.

Time to get in the shed and get creative...

I fit my grips , leave overnight to fully cure , then , using a scalpel / long slim hobby knife , cut out the end using the end of the bar as a guide. Or buy "lock-ons".

  I've still got an ashtray from the last Lufthansa flight where smoking was still allowed. I thought, well they won't need them anymore. 

 

  ( I don't have it attached to the bike, because I usually don't smoke when riding.)

Less is more ? 13.8 is a good voltage to charge a 12v battery with.
