Registration of birth certificate and dual citizenship

Hi

I would like to get dual citizenship for my son (we are not married but my name is on birth certificate)The first step is to register birth certificate in youth court... as far as I know .
We went to the youth court in Phuket.First they took all the papers and then they called us and said that we needed a lawyer because they have different procedures in Phuket .The youth court in the north provinces does not required a lawyer  , but it requires 3 visits north of thailand so this is a problem.

How to deal with this???How much to pay for the lawyer service in a  case like this ???

Agree with Richard, but do think that for many countries you'll need the birth certificate translated and legalised.

So I'd recommend the OP to check with his embassy/consulate.
