Getting to Chiang Rai airport early in the morning?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I live in an apartment building on the edge of town (about 15 mins away but you don't usually see taxis/tuk-tuk on the streets here) and need to get to Chiang rai airport at 6:30am to catch a flight. I usually use Grab or a rental bike to get around but I returned my bike (plus I won't be able to pull my luggage with it) and I doubt any Grab drivers are going to be awake at that time.

I don't speak any Thai so I feel a bit stuck as far as calling a taxi company.

Any suggestions?

Some of the cabbies that line up at Central mall seem to have a reasonable grasp of English, you could check there and get a card off of one with a mobile who starts early.

You could try booking and then ring early to check.

they speak enough english :

it usually follows this pattern :

"where (are) you now?"
"where (do) you go?"

"your telephone number?"

"taxi go now?"

"taxi call you back"

We just used Grab to get an early morning ride to the airport. No Problem. The taxi drivers start early.

There's also Uber. You can get a fare estimate from them here.
