A motorcyclist in north east Thailand fell two meters down a roadside drain after stopping for a pee.

Pongrit, 35, said he was on his way home and was desperate. So he stopped and was in a rush to relieve himself when he fell down the drain in a badly lit area.

Foundation medics from Prajak Nong Khai managed to extricate him using a rope harness. It was quite difficult as Pongrit was sporting a few extra pounds.

He was taken to Nong Khai Hospital with an injury to his left knee.

He told Sanook reporters that it was lucky that he had his phone in his trouser pocket and was able to call 191 to summon help.

The incident happened on the Friendship Highway in Pho Chai sub-district. Sanook said one of two drain covers had been removed, presumably by a thief.

I take my dogs out during the evening in a "badly lit area", but I can sgill see where I'm walking.

He might have stopped for a piss, but in this case, more like "Taking the piss"; blind as a bat and riding a motorcycle!

Lesson learned, my phone will always be in my trousers when going to take a pee

If only he did the right thing by peeing in his trouser, after all what's wrong with that? You don't have to get off the motorbike, once you get home you are quite dry because of the air flow however the guy who came close behind you on his motorbike might think it is drizzling.
