A female official working at a dental unit of Tambon Chalui hospital in Tha Sae district of Chumphon who was due to get married on Christmas Eve was shot dead in the hospital’s lodging Monday night (Dec 18) by an unknown gunman.

Nonthiya Kruacharas, 25, was found dead with gun shot wound to her chest inside the hospital’s staff accommodation this morning (Dec 19).

Tambon Chalui hospital officials told police that they heard a thud which sounded like a firecracker shortly after midnight from the direction of the victim’s lodging, but did not pay any special attention to it.

Police in Chumporn in the south of Thailand said that a man murdered his wife to be just five days before their wedding.

The case has captivated the Thai public and involves a shooting at a hospital where Nonthiya Kruajaturat, 25, worked in the dental services section. She was known locally as Dr Por.

Police said that they carried out a search of the house of Ronachai Panchart, 26, an electrical engineer who was to marry Nonthiya.

After incriminating clothing worn by a person spotted on CCTV at the scene of the murder was found Ronachai reportedly admitted to what he had done.

Known as "Ai Geng" in the Thai media he is expected to be taken on a re-enactment today.

The case revolves around a claim that the bride to be found out that her prospective husband had a woman on the side. But after she delved deeply into his affairs he is alleged to have shot her.

RIP. Don't want to say she's "gone to a better place" but marrying this psychopath would be no bowl of cherries. Did he kill her because he would lose face if she cancelled? Never crossed his mind that killing her would also lose him some face? Amazing Thailand

The sad "face loss" issue rears it's ugly head again.

So he had another woman, she found out, he killed her.

Any normal person would have walked away, and enjoyed his life, free from incarceration.

R.I.P. to a young lady, who has had her life cruelly taken.

Chumphon man accused of murdering bride-to-be

By The Nation

A Provincial Electricity Authority employee has allegedly confessed to killing his fiancee at her residence at Tambon Salui Health Promotion Hospital in Chumphon’s Tha Sae district early Tuesday morning.

Police say Ronnachai Panchat, 26, following hours of interrogation and upon being shown incriminating evidence, confessed to impulsively and drunkenly killing dentist Nonthiya Kruachaturas, 25, whom he was to marry in five days.

He claimed Nonthiya had recently caught him cheating on her with one of his co-workers, leading to a series of quarrels.

Ronnachai allegedly said he was carrying a gun when he went to see Nonthiya at 1am on Tuesday in hopes of resolving the issue. He found her already asleep, so he entered via a window and shot her dead in the bedroom, then returned to his home in Lang Suan district.

Police don’t believe he acted impulsively, since he brought a gun and a ski mask, switched off lights and turned aside an exterior CCTV camera that was aimed at Nonthiya’s residence.

Other cameras captured video of a man of his height looking drunk and walking around inside the hospital compound for 20 minutes before entering the residence.

While an arrest warrant for Ronnachai is sought on a charge of premeditated murder, police are looking for Ronnachai’s office lover (who has not been named) because she reportedly drove him to and away from the scene.

Nonthiya was found with a gunshot wound to the chest at 10am after she failed to show up for work. The bedroom had been ransacked.

Neighbours recalled hearing a loud noise, like a gunshot or an explosion, at around 1.30am, but didn’t investigate, assuming it was a truck tyre exploding on nearby Phetchkasem Highway.

Police exploring several motives, including personal conflict, summoned Ronnachai for questioning on Tuesday afternoon while his house was searched, turning up a shotgun, ski mask and khaki clothing resembling the attire of the man seen on CCTV.

Confronted with the evidence, Ronnachai allegedly confessed. Police planned to walk him through a crime re-enactment at the scene on Wednesday.

This incredibly small man just could not handle confrontation. A real man would have either confessed his affair, denied it, or just walked away. But, killing this women because she accused him of an affair? How dumb. How small. How unimpressive a man this is. Hope he spends the rest of his life in prison. I hear they are looking for fresh talent in there. He will make alot of friends, once they find out why he is there, no doubt. LOL.

The problem here is face. Face is no doubt, the greatest form of weakness, a human can engage in. Many will say it is societal, cultural, etc. No matter. It is the absolute and complete lack of the ability to introspect, and look within for the source of any problem, shortcoming, conflict, or issue. It is the polar opposite of spirituality, and therefore an absolute scourge on Buddha, and all of the precepts he taught. By practicing face, you are denying your spiritual heritage. You are refusing to man up. To take responsibility for your actions. If a man or a woman cannot, and will not take responsibility for their actions, the problems they create, the mistakes they make, and the issues they involve themselves in, what are they? Are they still an adult? Are they a complete individual, if they allow themselves to be limited by such infinitely small social convention?

Who cares what people think of you? For those of us with high self esteem, it just does not matter. Sure, close friends and family. But strangers on the street? Who gives a rat's butt about this? It means nothing what they think, nor what they say about you. They count for nothing. They are just people, and people you do not know, nor will ever see again. Face is rife with self doubt, and by subscribing to this weakness, and man or woman is made a far lesser person. For those of us with high self esteem, we know who we are. What others think, what society thinks, what a guy or gal thinks, means less than zero.

Real men or women, simply own a situation, and take responsibility for their errors or mistakes. Small men, social deviants, or emotional adolescents deflect, obfuscate, attempt to confuse, and do everything in their power to deny that they made a mistake, or that they are responsible in any way, or on any level. They make up narratives about fake news, or alternative facts. Anything to avoid looking within, for the source of the problem. Anything.

It makes me sick to my stomach to hear a story like this. He deserves nothing but the death penalty. People kill people. Governments enforce justice. Or they should.!!!!

Perfectly put. We in the Real World tend to face up to the consequences of our actions at around the age of six. But Thais just can't accept they are anything less than perfect, and anyone who tells them they are not is in danger of being killed. A quite incredible culture, yet they are so incredibly proud of themselves.

It is a fascinating phenomenon. What I have noticed, is there is alot of national pride, but it is not really backed up by a great degree of accomplishment. Granted, the average Thai has a decent life, and most Thais seem to enjoy a greater degree of fulfillment than the average Westerner. But, so many Thais have very low self esteem, and little confidence. Many are riddled with fear. It is sometimes covered up by the swagger that comes with that fake national pride thing. Very complicated indeed. A good sociologist or shrink would have a field day here.

They haven't accomplished anything at all on the world stage. Thai silk? An industry that was established by an American. Red Bull? A local brew until bought and properly marketed by an Austrian. Thai food? Largely based on Indian. I can't think of anything all all that a Thai has invented and given to the world.

Are you forgetting all of the oscar nominations? The Nobel Peace prizes? The Peabody's, for excellence in journalism. The Golden Globes? The gold medals at the Olympics? The outstanding showings in the World Cup? All of the F1 drivers? All of the Majors that the Thai golfers and tennis players have won? The Franklin Institute awards for scientific and technical excellence? The Heineken prize for excellent in the fields of biophysics, and biochemistry? Or the accolades for the charitable endeavors of the Thai billionaires?

Thailand has actually won a couple of Olympic medals. One was in women's weighlifting, which is ironic considering how petite Thai ladies are reputed to be. Another was in boxing. Both families were later embroiled in controversy, I think a murder and wife-beating.

I am aware of that. And they did have a great tennis player who as in the top ten for awhile. Paradorn Srichaphan. He was ranked #9 on the ATP. And got to the fourth round of both Wimbledon and The US Open, beating Nadal on the way there. He was a great player, and alot of fun to watch. He won 5 ATP tour titles. Quite an accomplishment. Plus he was a great guy, very polite, and very popular on the tour.

Thailand has also had a few great golf players (the great Thongchai Jaidee comes to mind), with 19 wins on the European and Asian tour. There have been a few other very good golfers, boxers, Muay Thai fighters, weight lifters, etc. But, it does not appear to be proportionate to either the population nor the place the country maintains, in the world's top 30 economies. And lastly, the entire post was one big pun.
