A video is doing the rounds of social media that shows a policeman counting money he has allegedly received as a bribe, reported Tnews.

The clip - that might have emanated from activist Thainon Thungna - shows the cop counting out a bundle of cash as he leans over the back of the vehicle.

A man is sitting in the back - it is not known if the "fine" was for breaking that particular regulation.

Tnews said that it appears that the man was a traffic cop and had the wording "Yota Paragon" emblazoned on his tunic.

They said that the authorities must find the bad apple and not let him get off.

The clip ended up on the page "Jao Phor Clip Det".

Friend of mine has a restaurant in Pattaya. Says he has to pay off 3 different "groups" 10k per month each, and now Bangkok cops have come to Pattaya to get in on the gravy train.

Well, as per the warning the other day from the national police chief, at least this guy didn't have his hands in HIS pockets...  He had his hands in OTHER PEOPLE's pockets...   Good lad!!!

Probably because bad things can happen if he doesn't pay. Bar owners whom I have spoken with seem to have the same problem. Many are afraid of this criminal element.

How many decades before Thais realise it is now the 21st century and everyone is walking around with a camera, and to round that out there are thousands of CCTV cameras to identify anyone up to no good. Not that I'm saying this servant of the people was doing anything untoward. Perhaps he was about to buy a present for his wife out of his savings.

Umm...because it's actually the 26th century according to the Thai solar calendar counted in the Buddhist Era (B.E.) พุทธศักราช, พ.ศ is it not, please?

The picture shows one of his comrades with the 'Bandit Mask' that most Thai cops wear so you can't recognize them..........

A conversation just came up today about all the 'young' children in Thai public schools having 'Lice' in their hair........ No help in the schools to keep young students from passing them around......

But Thailand has the big face with Submarines and other wealth but cannot keep the school children free from 'Lice'..........

Close your eyes for a moment and try to imagine that these cops are collecting all that money to give to the public schools......... since the Thai gov't won't cover the cost of controlling those Lice in the kids hair..............

A 'fantasy' or what?????  Those cops doing good with that money????  'fantasy'.... SURE...

These days I'm careful about what I wish for.

Take the visa issue: surely it used to be better to hand over a small envelope than go to court, get deported, and banned?  One of many examples.
