The company contracted to repair the uphill road to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep in Muang district of Chiang Mai province has been instructed to make corrections following complaints that gravels, pebbles and other materials left on the road surface have often caused accidents to motorcycles and bicycles, making the trips dangerous.

Rangsan Sukchai, director of the 2nd Highway Office in Chiang Mai gave this instruction to the contractor after images were posted online showing more than 20 tourists on motorcycles and bicycles had an accident because the surface of the road under repair is full of gravels, pebbles and other materials.

The road to Doi Suthep now being repaired with a budget of 14 million baht on a 11-kilometre stretch between Huay Kaew and Phu Phing Palace.

And who signed off the work as complete and authorised payment to the contractor.

Ah forget about it TIT.

As always in every major tourist destination, it is essential that roadworks are carried out in the high and peak season to achieve maximum inconvenience for residents and tourists alike.

Peak season work??? Surprisingly for here, not up to standard of keeping it safe. Most odd.

Forward planning? Pretty much the most of that I ever see from locals is when they peruse a menu.

10 long stiff brushes, 10 day labourers, 1 truck to ferry them up and down, 1day, job done.
