Take the A1 airport bus for 30 baht to the Mo Chit bus station and then the bus to Pattaya.

The A1 from the airport does not go to the bus station.  It stops at the BTS.

One will have to get a taxi to the bus station from Mo Chit BTS.

At suvarnabhumi airport there is a bus station with buses going at least once an hour to pattaya, that is the easiest bus route I would say. Take the bus from DMK to suvarnabhumi airport and bus from there. Would cost less than 200 baht in total.

Where is the suvarnabhumi to pattaya bus station located please.

The bus station at suvarnabhumi is about 2kms from the terminal itself. All the white coloured buses stop there and any bus going to suvarnabhumi stops there, so you only need to take a bus to suvarnabhumi and it will take you there itself. It's quite an easy thing to sort out. Just bus from Don Muang, and it will take you to the bus station at suvarnabhumi itself.

You are taking an inefficient route in my opinion.

Why go all the way to Suvarnabumi which can easily be an hour then catch another bus? Also, last I checked the Bell bus leaves every 2 hours from Suvarnabumi.

My suggestion is to either go via Mo Chit or better yet Ekkamai bts.

I would take the a1 bus to Mo chit, Mo chit bts to Ekkamai and catch a bus.  They leave there about every 30 minutes to Pattaya Nua.

Correct, on the road in the north of the city its usually 1100-1300 if you flag one down. Rama-Intra and then onto the expressway is the best route from the north of the city. If you head into it to go to either of the bus stations, you face traffic that is worse than ever as two bridges have been removed and slowed things up very much.

Ok thanks I will sort  this out I have until the 4th we are currently in Koh Samui
In that case why are you not flying direct to Pattaya from Samui instead of flying to North Bangkok and then taking multiple road connections?

that is new to me. It indeed stops at the BTS station and then terminates at MorChit local transport hub

the Suvarnabhumi - Pattaya Bus can very well go to the terminal and depart from there as well.

It starts at the public transport terminal, but 98% of the Pax board at gate 7 or 8 of the lower level of Suvarnabhumi

We are already booked to don muang I am  unaware there was a flight from samui to pattaya

There are a few.  They go to Utapao which is just outside of Pattaya.  I flew in and out a few years ago.  As memory serves the schedule changes, I forgot if it was Nok Air or Bangkok Air

Do you enjoy maniac drivers and irresponsible driving? If so, you will especially love the Bell minibus transfer from bus depot to hotel. Biggest mistake I made was trusting Bell. I use the service from Hua Hin and  it is very, very different,. Nicer, cleaner bus with a safer  format. Use a private driver/taxi.

just a follow up we did the 50 baht mini van to Suvarnabhumi then public transportation bus to pattaya we caught it at the airport terminal

I think it was eight. Then short motorbike taxi to our hotel the mini van ride was not that good if there is another option i will explore that next time the public bus to Pattaya was very good and cheap.

Pattaya has a useful airport. However, fast big buses run from Survanapoomi to Pattaya near Threpasit/Thapraya junction.
