Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has instructed authorities concerned to ensure safe return to Bangkok from the countryside for New Year’s revelers this week.

 

Government spokesman Lt-Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said Tuesday (Jan 2) that the prime minister also ordered officials to step up security at bus terminals and to watch out for criminal elements who might take advantage of the situation at the terminals to prey on passengers.

Is this to do with passenger safety to avoid road carnage appears not !

Too late got the hundreds of now dead who set off last week though

Well i know he is not the best Pm Thailand ever had but i have to agree with him on this one He is just doing his job so Thais stay alive I think in most western countries the leader will wish everyone a merry xmas and stay safe on the roads Then while they are wishing u a merry Xmas they will be warning you the authorities are out in force to make sure u obey the rules It is just part of the job of the PM

Like all previously he has failed miserably as they are too proud & (or) miserable to engage outside help.

When I asked a Senior Policeman why no mufti police actually travelling with the traffic, the answer was

"no budget for the fuel"     I rest my case
