Best way to MBK from Yaowarat

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

What will be the best way (Cheapest) to travel from Yaowarat road, Chinatown to the MBK area? We want to avoid taxi's and would prefer metro. Any suggestions would be appriciated.

Bus # 40 (large buses only). Or,  you use the small orange ones to the end of their route just east of Hualumphong, then change to # 29.

Cheapest way is to walk all the way. It's not that far, but easy to get disorientated in China town.  Walking to BTS Saphan Taksin is probably even further!

Metro/BTS route would be:

MRT Hualamphong - Sukhumvit (Asoke)

BTS Asoke - National Stadium

that's what I would do , but I like the bus.....

But the 40 bus going down Yaowarat ,  which is a one way street is going in the wrong direction to get you to MBK ,

the return #40 bus is the next street on the right ,  and when you get close to MBK you need to get off the bus before MBK  as the bus moves to the center lane to do a right turn at the intersection.

if you happen to miss it , just get off the bus after it turns right at the intersection and walk back......

But if there is more than one person its just as cheap to take a taxi.......
